Good value 175W Deluxe white Mercury lamp
Purchased this bulb for my 175Watt area light/bucket light. It works well and is bright. Im surprised by the only 8000 HR Rated Hours of lifde of the bulb as usually mercury lamps will last much longer than that. I suppose only time will tell

OEM Bulb Replacement For Mercury Vapor Lamp
We have a couple dozen outdoor dusk-till-dawn mercury vapor lamps (at least) around our property, and as with any bulb over time they go out. I ordered these because they were cheaper than at the local store, and also had the quantity I needed. Amazon packs these exceptionally well, I had no damaged (broken) bulbs. However, about 1-in-10 of the bulbs were DOA, but you could tell it was more a manufacturing defect than a shipping problem. i.e. one of the lead wires in the bulb was not welded to complete the circuit. +1 to Amazon for the great RMA process. It didn't cost me anything to ship it back (you print out a pre-paid label) and they over-nighted the replacement (even though they didn't have to).

The old one was out for a while before I was able to find this replacement so maybe it's just me, but this is a BRIGHT light, but not in a bad way. I am far from complaining, because now I can see my whole driveway, and my security camera shows an excellent picture (I did not have the system before so I can't make a before and after comparison). It is also quite durable, as the dusk sensor is not working anymore. The light has started to pulse all day long at reduced brightness and on solid at night. Another DIY project for another time. All in all very satisfied with it.

Perfect
Buying this bulb here vs ordering via the card thing that came in the light fixture box itself, MUCH cheaper on Amazon. Shipping was prompt, item came exactly as described & was packaged in a way that protected the bulb from any damage. I was worried this wouldn't be the exact model bulb I needed, as the fixture is quite old, but it matched perfectly & screwed in without issue. Highly recommend.

right product at the right price.
My roommate first bought a halogen replacement in town for $45.00 - which did not work. After some research, I discovered that I needed a "Sodium" or Mercury Vapor type bulb - which I found on Amazon for less that $10 with free (prime) delivery. I am happy to say that the long dark days of Alaska winter are not so dark anymore.

false advertizing
I rated this product low due to the fact that the image seen on amazon shows a clear bulb -WHICH THIS IS NOT! - - I specifically wanted a clear bulb , and this product is white frosted ! --- anybody ever hear of "false advertizing" - While it is too time consuming to return this product , I will certainly be amongst those who will not buy from this seller again. I wonder if Amazon , which has an excellent reputation with me , is aware of this problem?

Good deal, Same bulb as at my local hardware store but cheaper.
For whatever reason it is somewhat hard to find these at my local stores and when I did find one it was quite expensive. I turned to amazon and was not let down. This bulb was literally the same bulb, brand and all I had found locally but significantly cheaper. I will be buying my next bulb here for sure.

INACCURATE/FALSE DESCRIPTION AND ILLUSTRATION OF MERCHANDISE
I rarely leave negative reviews on any seller's merchandise, but this time I MUST alert buyers that there is false representation of product here: the image for this item clearly shows a bulb that is "clear" coated, and the item is described with the phrase "clear outer bulb." I then ordered what the image and description represented. Yet, as with another reviewer who got burned by this seller's misleading/false description-- I received a bulb that was frosted. This is a significantly different type of illumination than what was displayed and advertised. This is a problem that should never have happened. Do not order this item because you will not receive what was described/illustrated!
