Plastic honeycomb mesh prevents cats from entering yard

I have been using cat discouraging products for a few years now, and while many do work against most stray cats, occasionally you will find a spiteful determined cat who will do ANYTHING to get into your yard, and in my case, "play" on my carpeted patio (of course there are many birds that flock around my planters, which is an added attraction for cats). I usually use the wire poultry netting which has larger openings but still does not allow a cat through, so I was baffled by the way one small young cat keeps fitting himself past all these barriers to get into the yard. Anyway, I ordered this product because it has smaller openings (you can see a closeup of how the netting looks by pointing your mouse at the picture), and when it arrived I didn't realize it was plastic instead of steel, but I am happy because it's easier to work with and cut, and is a strong tough plastic that will not give too readily to the cat's pushing. There is a steel fence around my backyard, and is about the height of this netting which is 3 ft. tall, so I just unrolled the entire thing across the corner that the cat comes through, he watched me do it and was he mad. I anchored the netting with regular twine, and this way there is no "give" for a cat to push through, and I dare little Houdini (my name for this little so-and-so) to get through THIS, it's like a blockade. I also advise discouraging cats with a product like the I Must Dog & Cat repellent sprays and granules, which is an added unlikeable product towards stray cats yet will not harm them or your own pets.

Great for apartment patios.

Perfect for an apartment patio if you have a small dog who can fit through the bars. I tried metal chicken wire and was scared my little doge would get stabbed by it. It looks great and very well made. You could probably do two small patios with how much it comes with.

Great for keeping my small dog inside the black metal fence.

This was a great solution for keeping my small dog in my yard by using black zip ties to attach the black “plastic poultry netting” to the black metal fence. The fence is still aesthetically pleasing and it serves it’s purpose well. Should hold up well in all types of weather too. My home owners association is also very picky about attaching things to the fence, but this was approved.

Good product for our needs

Easy to install and cut to size. Works to keep our 6lb pomchis from walking through the bars of our cast iron fence, and the black color blends well with the landscaping.

I expected better quality

It was hard to imagine how stiff/flexible the mesh is since the there is not much in the description but it is exactly as I hoped it to be. Easy to work with and when stretched it won't sag. I purchased it to add a bit of height to my fence so that my dog cannot jump over and the mesh will be perfect for that (and fairly easy on the wallet as well). I am updating this review a year later and I am downgrading from 5 to 3 stairs. The fencing is ripped in many spots, and there is a long section where it has to be removed completely and replaced because it's beyond any repair. I had hopes it would last longer because technically it is not being used for anything, the only tear & wear would be due to weather.
