Not as Robust as I hoped
I got these, and I think that they will work, however, they are not well designed. After the third cut (a maple sapling about 1.5" in diameter) the cutting blade bent and chipped, and would not longer pass the hook. I've re-honed the blade, and I'm hopeful that given time and adjustments they will work well - but the blade shape and design is not the right steel/thickness/edge strength for the given configuration. If you aren't ready to re-hone and re-sharpen, I'd look elsewhere.

We use this model lopper heavily on a small orchard. We like it's lighter weight and the blade holds an edge well. I have broken a cutting edge and had to replace it (thankfully the parts are available) as well as we have lost the bolts that hold the blade occasionally. All parts are available for maintenance, and the lopper is our go-to model.

Good Loppers
I have a long pair of these loppers. I choose it over the others I have because I just like it better. The one drawback for me is that it does not have a lock nut on it nor does the bolt fit anyone I can find i the local hardware store.

Handles not strong
I do a lot of trail work for park services, loppers are great and smooth. Handles needed to be reinforced to handle 3" cut.
