Lasted a year with every weekend use in the summer
We used this in an off-grid cabin about every weekend, mostly just in the summer of course. It died after one year. Not great, but that's probably more use than most people will put it to. It uses a lot of battery power. We started out with NiCad rechargables which didn't last long at all, and then invested in Lithium rechargeable batteries which are pricey. I'm replacing it with an off-brand Milwaukee fan that uses regular power tool batteries which we already have.

Thought it would be better
This fan is ok, it's on par with most of the rechargeable fans. My magnet was fairly strong but not strong enough to use as directed. If you have a tall ceiling in your tent it is basically useless, unfortunately we had a trip where the humidity and heat were above normal for the time we were using it and it had little to no impact as a "ceiling" fan but worked good as fan for exhaust to circulate air with other fans in use. I would say this is good for a small tent that 1 person is using but that's about the limit. I personally think it is pretty sturdy and durable minus the fabric blades and I don't think this is a terrible item, it just doesn't perform the way it is described. As with a lot of these rechargeable fans you need to lower your expectations, they just don't have the kind of power to produce the airflow unless they compromise battery life.

Great circulation, functionality, and value!
I felt spoiled on our last campout with this nice tent light and dual speed fan combo. It circulated the air in my two-man tent very well and definitely improved the sleeping experience. The buttons are easy to find in the dark and the fan blades are a soft flexible material so if my son decided to stick his fingers in there, then there's no risk of injury. I only stayed one night and didn't have the fan or light on full blast and I didn't leave it on the entire night, but that said the batteries lasted the whole trip and I didn't feel like it was getting weaker the next day. I will say that I think it's more of a car-camping type of fan since it's really bulky and heavy. That pays off because of how well it works, but we hiked a few miles in before we made camp, and the only way I could store the fan was strapped to the exterior of my pack. That worked fine but it did add some extra weight to it. If I were on a long distance backpacking trip I think it would be too bulky and heavy to bring with me. But if I'm not too far from the car, then this thing is ideal!

you can pretty much place it anywhere you want
I bought two of these for camping. I forgot to put up the magnetic piece so I can't review that, but in theory it makes it so you don't have to have the hook on the tent. you can pretty much place it anywhere you want. However, the weight of it may become a factor in that. I just hooked it using a small carabiner to the tent lantern hook and it worked quite well. At night the low setting of the light was plenty enough to see, but I would probably use the bright setting for any reading at night. Slight drawback to me is that the stand just doesn't really work all to well. The fan falls over backwards quite easily, and it is aimed rather high. I ended up propping it up on my pack and it worked well. I used them both for two nights on the the one set of batteries, and they definitely needed changed after that. I did not use the Coleman rechargeable battery pack.

I did not like this fan very much and I usually am very happy with Coleman products. I gave it three stars because someone else might like it for the exact reasons I don't. First of all, it is too quiet. You can't hear it at all and one of the reasons I bought it was for white noise. You get no noise with this fan. Second, the light button and the fan button are very hard to distinguish even in the daylight. Trying to do anything with the buttons at night is impossible without hitting the wrong button. Third, It is very hard to handle. If you need to move it or anything your fingers will hit the fan-which is no big deal because the blades are foam and don't hurt, but it is kinda loud if you hit them. Fourth, it is in my opinion too heavy to hang from the roof of my tent. I started putting it on but it looked like it was pulling my tent in too far. I didn't trust it. Fifth the stand is worthless. I had to lean it against other items in the tent. Truly disappointed in this fan.

Nice product, but serious design flaw
First of all, I am a huge Coleman fan. Their products are always well built and hold up forever! This is the case with this tent fan....it's seems very sturdy, the fan and light work great, but listen to the other reviews that state that it is too heavy! It comes with a magnetic system to hang is from the top of the tent. Great concept, but the magnet needs to be a little stronger to keep the fan hung. After you add in the 4 D batteries, the fan weighs about 5 lbs. The tent material held it up fine, but everytime I merely bumped the fan while moving around my tent, the fan would fall down, and the outer piece that the magnet attaches too would fall down on the outside of the tent. I plan on keeping the fan because like I said before, it is a nice fan (and held up superbly with all of the tumbles it took from the top of my tent), and figuring out a way to hang it from the top of the tent a different way.

Works great in a smaller tent but make sure you take lots of extra batteries for multi night trips.
I know, a fan in a tent right? Seems kind of lame. But, when it is hot or you just want some ambient noise (other campers snoring) I like to have one. I was already invested in the CPX system owning a lantern that I wanted other devices that would work so I picked this one up before a camping trip. I got about 8 hours of use out of the fan on low from one battery, a far cry from the listed life. The good news is that it did a nice job of keeping the tent air circulating so I will just carry extra CPX battery packs when I camp and charge them up during the day.

Great with a few minor flaws
This is a great little fan, but it is heavy when you get the batteries in the case. I purchased it for my husky to help with air movement and I use it in the car when we're camping or traveling, as well as when we're sitting outside. The stand isn't great just because there isn't much adjustment and it falls over pretty easily, but it does still work most of the time. It's nice to have a mobile option and not be tethered to a plug.

works great
We bought these for our tents while camping, there great we joked that the light on high was bright enough to use for the mother ship to land, and the fan does well moving the air the blades are foam so you don’t have to worry about hitting them because we’ll it doesn’t hurt. The batteries lasted over 3 nights, we used it for 3 night and still had power when we packed them up, the down fall 4 D batteries are heavy to hang off a tent we had to put it on the centre support so It was strong enough to hold it

Worked great! Highly recommend!!
This worked really great for us the whole week away while camping. For five days, running it while we sleep during the night, didn’t have to change the batteries once! It has a bit of a noise, but not anymore than any other fan would make. And to be honest, I run at fan at night for the bit of noise it gives off to help me sleep. Highly recommend this product!! Plan on taking it on every camping trip now! 5 stars!!!
