Insert an L5-15P plug into this receptacle BEFORE using...

EATON Wiring CWL515R 15 Amp 125V L5-15 Industrial Receptacle I bought a Nema L5-15P 15 Amp 125V 2 Pole 3 Wire Industrial Grade Locking Male Plug along with this Eaton receptacle. I was unable to fully insert the plug into this receptacle by hand. No matter how hard I tried, it wouldn't go in -- and I lift weights. Luckily, this was before any wiring. Placing this Eaton receptacle back-side down on the bench, with a partially inserted L5-15P, a gentle whack on the plug with a rubber mallet did the trick. It then fully seated, and worked easily, by hand, after that. Whatever had been "wrong" was a one-time issue. The receptacle is fine.

Big box ain’t gonna have this

Needed for Technogym Artis vario install in my home. SURPRISE!! Crazy male plug. So I got the crazy female outlet (this), installed it and we lived happily ever after. Don’t expect to find this locally if you’re not an electrician with a supplier. Perfect.
