Love the large size

I like the large size of these letters. They appear durable. I have two grandsons, 4 and 2 who play with them.

Super Pleased with This Set

These may seem more expensive than your average magnetic letters, but it's really a case of getting what you pay for. Not only do you get letter duplicates which definitely come in handy when your child loses some, but you get very high quality foam letters. I noticed when punching out the letters from the sheets that my finger nails put marks in the foam. Most of those sprang back, I think, but next time I would punch them out from the sheets upside down, so my fingernails would dig into the magnetic backing instead. More importantly, what it led me to do is to try to tear some of the foam and see if I could get it off in chunks. I was worried my 19-month-old might break some off and swallow the foam. Nope! This foam is super sturdy, and even with my fingernails, I couldn't rip it. Dang good stuff. I wanted these letters originally because I don't want her swallowing magnets or choking on the letters, and the lower case letters seemed too small in other sets. I think the smallest one in this set is the lower case r (just under 1.5 by 2.5 inches ) or i (.5 by 2.5 inches), way smaller than I was hoping for, but with the thicker foam and watching her interact with them, I'm fairly comfortable my daughter won't swallow them. These letters have full magnetic backing instead of small magnets... small magnets are unsafe (ask your pediatrician or Google what happens when they swallow more than one). WE had an inexpensive upper case set from Target that we liked, but she lost a lot of those letters already, and she peeled the paper off of the magnets on a few of them. We couldn't find similar lower case letters that were large enough, so we got these, and we like these better. Plus, these came with numbers. We are very happy with this set.

Not as advertised

My advise is if you need 2 of each letter do not purchase! I ordered this set of letters to tutor a 4 year old. It was purchased through Amazon. The letters were a perfect size and quality for my purpose. The letters had to be removed from their foam enacasement. During our first lesson we sorted the uppercase and lowercase letters into piles. We discovered instead of having the advertised two of each letter we had a variety of numbers ranging from 1 to 5. I contacted Discount Supply the distributor of the alphabet set. After 3 emails I was informed since I purchased the item from Amazon I would have to go to them for a solution. I called Amazon and was told to solve the problem I would need to return the item. This was not a viable solution for me because of the following reasons: As previously stated the letters have been removed from their foam encasements so they are not in their original condition, because of numerous closurers the closest return center to me is 30 miles away (gas is over $3.00 a gallon), the replacement may have the same issue. Therefore I am keeping what I have and will somehow improvise when I need two letters and only have one.
