As a career military officer, I've done my share of globetrotting, on business where I get a little dirty, and more pleasant trips. Sometimes though, a regular suitcase just does not cut it, and you want a large one that is easy to maneuver. Enter the Deployer Loadout Bag! This bag is massive! I took it on a family vacation and fit all of my clothes, my wife's shoes, and lots of random other stuff (food for the 2 year old, etc...) on the way out. When we packed to come home, the food was mostly gone, but I replaced that with about 30 bottles (half 12 oz, and half 22 oz or larger) of quality Asheville area craft beer. All fit fine. This bag is designed to act like a foot locker - you can live out of it but just opening the top. The side pocket has a good sized pocket to house things you want to be easily accessable, and the lid has 4 pockets for small items or, again, things you want to have available anytime. The wheels are solid - good enough to roll on most terrain, even rough, and certainly in an airport, though there is no telescoping handle (something that could break), so it is a little more awkward than some bags. Add to that the shoulder straps and (if you've got a strong back for a fully loaded one) you can carry it like backpack. There is a spot at one end for your nametape, patch, or other identifying label, but rest assured that, unless you are hanging out with a bunch of Soldiers or Marines, it is unlikely someone else will have this bag. Perfect for air travel, car travel, or just about anything. Very expensive, but quality bags that last a long time usually are. A buddy of mine has brought his to the desert several times, and it's still going strong!
