Great family game - quick to learn, very scalable
This has become one of the go to games for our family. It is easy to learn the basic rules and the reminder cards that come with it make it even easier. We can play a round quickly, which works if some people want to just be there for a short time, but then we can just do more rounds for those who are staying. Very easy to pack as it is a small box and works great for extended family get togethers because it is so easy to learn. My kids have also taken it to college and found it works well for the dorm room (again, easy to play people in and out, quick to pick up and does not take a lot of room in their dorm). I am not sure if it would work as well for elementary aged kids (have not played with any), but I would say middle school and on it is a winner.

Experience the Thrill of Deception and Strategy
Coup is a popular card game that takes place in the Dystopian Universe, where players compete to eliminate their opponents and become the last player standing. Strategic gameplay: Coup requires players to use strategy and deception to outwit their opponents, making it a challenging and engaging game. Quick gameplay: Each round of Coup is fast-paced and can be played in just a few minutes, making it perfect for a quick game night or break between activities. Unique powers: Each player in Coup has a unique set of powers that they can use to their advantage, adding to the complexity and variety of the game. Compact size: The game comes in a compact box, making it easy to transport and store when not in use. Replay value: Coup is a game that can be played multiple times with different strategies and outcomes, ensuring that it has high replay value. I suggest buying card sleeves for this game to protect against wear and tear.

Awesome game
We are big board game players and took this to a Game night with friends who don't play as much. They found it easy to learn and play. If you like deception games and something easy to play this is the game for you.

Easy to Learn, Quick to Play
Recommendation: 5 stars Ease to Learn: 4 stars Good for Family: 5 stars Good for Adults: 5 stars Short time to play: 5 stars Value for money: 4.5 stars This game is best learned by someone who has played it. It takes about 3 rounds to understand it sufficiently with someone who has played it. The game is then easy to learn and interesting. We played about 3 rounds in 40 minutes, so each game doesn't take long--about 12-14 minutes. The idea is that each player gets 2 player cards. Each player card has a different character and there are are 3 of each character that does a specific function. You play your role as one of your characters or fib about having a character you don't have. For instance, you say, I am a Duke and will collect 3 money tokens (each turn you get tokens, the number you get is determined by your character cards or your ability to convince everyone else you have a specific card). If someone says they don't think you are a Duke and call you out, you lose a character card if you were lying. If you weren't, they lose a card. When you have 7 money tokens, you can assassinate another player to eliminate one of their character cards. Therefore, collecting money quickly and calling people out who you think are fibbing, is the game. The last person standing wins. There are elements of fibbing, selling, convincing, strategy, and elimination that are all part of the game. My family loves this. The game says 14+ but my 10 year old loves this game and tends to win a lot. If this sounds like fun, consider the Night of the Werewolf game as well--similar time to play, easy to do with the app on your phone and almost zero learning curve. The price is good. I would recommend.

All bluffers, go grab one.
This was my second board game after Risk. Shipping and packaging(5/5) - Came pretty quick and in good condition. Board game box condition and inner parts (5/5) - Very less content but quality is top notch. Pricing (3/5) - Looking at the content it does not feel like a Rs 800 product(price at which I received), forget about the 1300 price tag. Its too much. and this is true because it costs 600 in US and it is ok for that. Seller(5/5) - His products are superb. I always look forward to buy products that he sells. About the board game(4/5) - Its a quick board game, you sit and you are done in few minutes. Its not unlike other games which may sometime take hours. We have cards and coins. If you can bluff others you can be the potential winner in this game. Its very simple but pretty fun game. I simply gave 4 because I get bored after playing for 2-3 time continuous. Go grab one if you want to have fun in short time.

Lie for your life!
Coup is a short bluffing game where players take actions based on the characters they have (or are pretending to have). Using a combination of deception, deduction and luck the aim is to be the last surviving player. Life is fragile in Coup - players will need to decide carefully when they can afford to bluff (or call a bluff) as the consequences of getting it wrong are deadly. Learning the rules will take 5 mins and games usually last about 10 mins. Whilst you can play with 2 or 3 players I've found the game to be much more fun with a higher number. Marcus Brutus: + Game is easy to learn/teach and the summary cards included provide a good reminder of the available actions whilst you play. + Scope for a variety of strategies - do you play aggressively for a 'strong' position, or act passively in the hope of avoiding attention? + The physical quality of the game is good and the artwork on the cards is great. + Good mechanics to prevent stalling and stalemate. + Compact and portable - great for the pub or holidays. Julius Caesar: - If you get killed off quickly you're stuck waiting for the game to finish (although games have a short duration so the wait isn't too long). - I found short term re-playability to be limited; I wouldn't be interested in playing more than a few games in one sitting as it gets a bit repetitive. Longer term re-playability is better though, especially with different groups of people. Unless you really don't like bluffing games (e.g. from playingOne Night Ultimate Werewolf or similar) you'll probably enjoy playing Coup. It's quick, fun and not too expensive, making it accessible and enjoyable for both regular gamers and those with a more casual interest.

A really great, simple, fun game to play over and over again!
We were introduced to this game by a friend. We were a bit sceptical at first, but as soon as the first round was over we were hooked! I bought it for my family holiday and now my sister has bought it for some of her friends as a gift too! It’s pretty straightforward to get the hang of (the more players - up to 6! - the more competitive and challenging!). Rounds can go by pretty quickly but it certainly doesn’t get boring - a game to play over and over again!

Quick, fun game of logic and deceit.
Coup is a quick, enjoyable filler game which lasts around 10 - 20 minutes depending on the player count, with some players being eliminated sooner than others. The game supports a relatively wide range of player counts (2 - 6, though plays best with 4 - 6 players) and is suitable for all types of gamers. Rules Overview: In Coup, your goal is to eliminate all other players by taking away their influence and to be the last one standing. Each turn is simple, as you simply declare and take an action. You can take the safer generic actions (taking coins from the Treasury, paying to make someone lose an influence), but there are also special character actions you can take (taking a larger amount of coins, paying less to make someone lose an influence) which supposedly correspond to the character influence cards you have face-down in front of you. The reason bluffing is such a large part of this game is because you're allowed to lie and take the actions of characters you don't have. If no one calls you out, then you get away with your lie and take the action. If someone thinks you're bluffing and challenges you, then you have to reveal the appropriate character card, or else flip one of your characters face-up and losing one influence. If you lose both your influence character cards, you're out of the game. Coup may therefore be harder/less enjoyable for those who do not keep a straight poker face. However, in most situations, telling the truth is probably your best bet anyways. Components/Artwork: Being a smaller game, there aren't too many components in the box. With that being said, the components that do come with the game are of good quality. The character cards are slightly taller than standard playing cards and have a sturdy feel to them. I've played the game around 10 times now and there isn't any visible wear on my cards. That being said, the cards are handled quite a bit and may benefit from being sleeved. The game also comes with player aids printed on nice stock and chunky cardboard coins. The artwork is quite detailed, but all of it is on the character cards, so you won't see too much of it while playing. If you liked the artwork inThe Resistance , then you'll enjoy the art here, as they're in the same universe. Game Depth/Replayability: The game is fairly light, which isn't bad for a quick filler game. There is a fair bit of luck, based on the characters you draw and the ones other players have. However, there is strategy in things like keeping track of the characters you know/think are in play, which can make calling a bluff easier. I do find a certain meta can develop once you've played the game a few times with the same group. For example, almost all my games of Coup now start with the first three players taking the Duke action, which allows you to take 3 coins from the Treasury. This may not be the case for other groups, but I feel like the possibility of a predominant strategy carrying over from game to game may cause Coup to become stale after multiple plays. Truthfully, I have not brought Coup out very much recently. I do also find that near the end of the game, when only 2 or 3 players are left, players mostly know each others' characters and the winner is mostly already decided based on that, which makes the endgame feel less tense. Overall Thoughts: I think of Coup as a bluffing version of Rock-Paper-Scissors, but with a few extra levels of complexity. Some characters are clear counters to others, but the bluffing aspect adds tension and uncertainty. Coup may not be everyone's favourite, especially for those who do not like lying, but I think the short time investment and ease of play makes it a game that very few will be opposed to playing if brought out on a game night. I'm still happy to have this one in my collection, even if it won't be seeing the table too often anymore.
