Read if you’re looking for a sp1091 replacement

Hopefully this helps anyone looking to replace their Hayward sp1091 wide mouth skimmer. Yes this does fit and is a direct replacement. HOWEVER the plastic trim that goes on the inside of the pool was millimeter or 2 too big for my pool. I used my old Hayward sp1091wm plastic trim for the inside of the pool and swapped everything else with what I had ordered. I give this 3 stars because the box was beat up and the skimmer was dirty. For the price though I cannot complain because the pool store was asking over double the price. If you have a Hayward sp1091wm skimmer I recommend this product as cheap alternative that is plug and play. Butterfly gasket assured no leaks just don’t put the gasket over the liner it goes under. I Hope this saves someone the time and money if they’re looking for an alternative. It took me 20 minutes to assemble and swap out the old with the new.

This Item worked great for us.

We ordered this not knowing if it would work for our pool and it does work great. I was able to use our old elbow for our vacuum, I was worried about that and not being able to find one that works. It was easy to assemble.

The basket though!

The gaskets are very good, the plastic thickness is good. My only complaint is there’s nothing to keep the basket where it belongs. When the pump stops the basket floats and becomes dislodged from where it belongs. This leaves the pump vulnerable to debris. That part of the design is defective but I’ll figure something out. Not worth returning it.

easy to install and set up

Installs with out any issues, You can not install this with the water level high as there is not blocking panel to prevent the water from flowing out during the install. Other than that the product is easy to install just be carful when cutting the hole not to make to large
