Well made optics- product description flawed! No tripod mount as claimed.

This is a nice monocular- with the larger objective lens, the exit pupil (32/8 = 4mm), is large enough to let more light through to the eye than an 8x21 device. Focus is smooth with no hysteresis. The lanyard it short, but acceptable. Make sure to thread the lanyard through the eye piece cover to retain the cover when in use. The carrying case is a little too tight- the objective lens cover gets pulled off when you extract the device from the case. This device is not small enough for typical pockets- so you need a large pocket for carrying the the field. The device is also heavier than expected if you are used to an 8x21 viewer. Lastly, the description on A-zon states it has the tripod mount, but the unit I received does NOT have a tripod mount. I may send it back due to this misleading aspect since I intended to use it with a tripod in certain situations. Here is a partial quote from web page "...Siege 8x32 monocular gets you up close and personal with 8x magnification and a 32mm objective lens perfect for mid-range glassing, even when dusk sets in. ... with standard ¼-20 screw mount compatibility, to be your on-the-go spotting scope...." Buyer be informed of this before you place your order!

Excellent optics, good ergonomics, lens caps and case with shoulder strap included. Recommend!

I've tested several of the "cheaper" monocular available on Amazon, and this one is a winner for this price range. (Much better than similar 30mm Barska and Roxant monoculars.) The image bright and clear edge-to-edge, there is very little false color, and the ergonomics in hand are very good. Lens caps are included, and the carrying case has a shoulder strap, which is appreciated. The only downsides are that this is slightly heavier than similar 30-32mm scopes, and the front lens cap falls off when you take it out of the included carrying case. It's not a big problem - I don't think the lens caps are necessary if you keep in the case, and there are no issues with the caps if you carry it in your pocket.

Firefield Siege 8x32 Monocular

Been looking for an inexpensive monocular for hunting/bird watching that had a magnification of 7-8x and with a twist eye cup, compact but not too small and a decent FOV. This Siege had checkedall these boxes and this seller had them for at least 1/2 price so I took the plunge and ordered one. It arrived yesterday late afternoon so I took it out to test it and it has a nice clear view to about 70% of the viewing area which is more than adequate for my needs. The FOV is stated at 393ft @ 1000yds and it's not too narrow. I checked it's light gathering at night and it was surprisingly better than expected. In the manual it is IP rated but not stated on the description on Amazon's site. The rubber armor is not too hard nor too soft, it's ergonomic and it runs about 8oz. This model resembles a couple of Vortex monoculars. It is definitely worth the price of admission for what I paid.
