Great design but horrible smell

I would give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for this horrible chemical smell. I really need to crate my pup for medical reasons so I’m keeping it and I just really hope that the smell will go away. It’s very small when folded so great for storage and travel. Very easy to unfold and it’s ready to use. Perfect size for my 17lb dachshund. The tent Seems to be sturdy but my dog is sedated all the time so I can’t say if it’ll work for an active dog.

A success story.. For anyone has ever transitioned a cat you will know how difficult it is and cats are known for anxiety (which loosely translates to peeing on your favorite furniture in most cases!) I recently had to relocate and moved into my boyfriend place so during this time I needed to find a solution to AVOID a cat anxiety issue and her peeing on his couch and deeming us both homeless. So after weeks of Amani being in foster care and extensive research, I tapped into my boyfriends camping resourcefulness and have found this amazing solution —-> #glampingkitty ⛺️ The PET GEAR travel tent is genius. Fits her temperpedic mattress, has a retractable shade roof and a door to come and go as she pleases,. My balcony has amazing views of trees and water so now she doesn’t want to come inside and I officially have a GLAMPING CAMO KITTY ???????????? She hasn’t come out of it since I opened it today and she is happily sitting out on the balcony in her car condo GLAMPING away. This is a perfect solution for her so I can leave her on the balcony happily when I am not home and she is just chilling like a villain. #successstory #whydidntithinkofthisbefore I can’t recommend this product enough. The quality is amazing. The color perfectly blends with our other outdoor furniture. She is a very happy cat. It’s a win for us Both. This is a size 29x29 and is great for her size. I wouldn’t put food or water or a litter in there or would be cramped. The best part is if I ever need to board her she can pack her little retractable home and be happily safe inside.

Would consider purchasing again if I knew the zipper was of better quality.

This small size is just right for two small kittens, their food, water, and a very small litter box. I would recommend the medium or large if you have more than two small kittens (less than 3 months old). It is easy to fold and unfold and is sturdy. We haven’t taken it in any trips but I believe it would do fine. The only problem I’ve had is with the zipper that attaches the top canopy to the corral. Sometimes the teeth don’t latch together when I zip it. I keep the canopy on at all times because I need to keep my older cats out of the corral.

Great in principle, not always in practice- more appropriate for calm, mature, or supervised dogs

We have a metal pen for home, but it was getting heavy for weekend travel to parents, friends, etc for our 35 lb beagle mix. She is EXTREMELY good in the pen at home, which is open on top, and has never tried to escape in the 1.5 years that we've had it. So the first time, we left her in the travel-lite pet pen with the top off, but left the zippers at the bottom. She managed to open the zippers and get out, but not without first scratching 3 6" long slits in the door mesh. On another occasion, she simply pawed hard enough to crush the side panel down enough to jump out. So this weekend, we brought the top cover, and then left to go out to dinner. I went back inside to bring her the bone that was in the car, and lo and behold, she had managed to ROLL THE ENTIRE PEN across the room to the door that I had left through not 30 seconds earlier!!! This is, of course, hilarious, but rather disappointing, as well, because the pen clearly did not serve its purpose. As the title says, this pen is great in principle, but it really depends on what you intend to use it for and under what circumstances. Oh, and we had originally gotten the 36" one for her (since it's supposedly recommended for up to 60 lb. dogs), but it was so low, her head stuck out, and she jumped out of that one as soon as we zipped up the door and stepped back to test it out. All of the above happened in the 46" size.

Great travel pen!

This pen worked out great as a travel pen. We purchased 3 of these pens a year ago and used them on vacation to kennel our 3 small dogs while we were away from our vacation home. My dogs weigh between 9-15# each and these pens were the perfect size. If you dog is bigger I would recommend the larger size.They store very nicely and didn't take up much room in the trunk of my car. Light weight, very easy to set up and break down. I also just purchased one of these for my aunts 3 1/2# Pomeranian to use as an every day pen when she goes away from her home. She leaves it set up with her dogs bed, blanket and toys and she loves it, goes in and out all day. She doesn't hesitate to go in when she needs to be kenneled. I received exactly what is pictured with the Pet Gear name on the logo above the door, I noticed in other reviews some people didn't receive the correct product. I would not recommend if you dog is a chewer!

Excellent safety pen for cats & dogs

These are very well made, easy to open & set-up and easy to close for storing. Most importantly they have permanently attached bottoms - sewn into the side panels. Most other brands have velcro-attached bottoms & they just don't hold. Wouldn't hesitate to buy more if ever needed, but given their quality, these will last many years. We just moved & used these to hold our cats while the movers were packing & emptying the house. The pens are large enough for feeding bowls, a small litter box and blanket, so the cats were safe, but could still eat, sleep & use their boxes. It gave them a safe area during all the commotion of moving. It really reduced our stress knowing the cats were safe because the movers insisted on leaving the outside door open while they loaded our furniture into the moving van.

Perfect for puppy overnight.....can’t wait to travel with it.

Our puppy sleeps in this in our room every night. At 7 months old we now leave the top off and door open and she chooses to stay in. She did flip it over once when we first left her home alone lol so we had to use her crate when leaving her alone.. So light and easy to initially move from living room to bedroom everyday. I was gifted this as a hand me down....best gift ever! I purchased another to have at our trailer for the summer months. When the pandemic is over we’ll be traveling again and it will be going with us. The petroleum smell of the netting in the new one is awful. I’m waiting for a calm sunny day to put it outside...the sun usually fixes odour issues.

Buy THIS one - no regrets!

This is my second one, with the first lasting about six years. Used nightly as “bed” for two rambunctious mini-doxies, the canvas and mesh held up so long against claws, dander, and other things that dogs do. When needing to be cleaned, throwing it under the shower with a little shampoo did the trick and it dries fast. Favourite features include the door at the front, a top that unzips to the back - so the open top flap never blocks the door (makes it easy to get the boys in and tucked in for a snooze). I bought a less expensive portable pen a couple months ago and had to duct tape the mesh within two weeks. Pay a little more - it’s top quality. NOT a paid review!

Pet Gear Travel Lite OctaGon Pet Pen with... Pet Gear, Inc.

Great pen. It's durable, the top zips off and can wipe down easily to clean. It's folds up easy for storage. The bottom is sewn in so my kitty can't escape. I bought this for my 9 month kitten and he seems happy to go inside to sleep. The size is just slightly smaller then what they said. It's 25.5X 26.5 (X 17H ) You can't use a normal kitty little box as it takes up more then 1/2 the space so I made a smaller kitty little box and it gives my kitty more space to sleep and stretch out, makes it almost 100% a perfect size for my needs. Would be perfect to travel with. I do wish I got the bigger size just to give him more space to play and roll around. I also didn't receive the outdoor steaks to stick into the ground-that was disappointing as it clearly states on the box it comes with them. I will try to contact the company and if they send them to me I'll change my review. I've only been using it a few days but I really do love it and love that it's not cheap fabric. I would totally give this product a 5 star rating even though it's smaller then they said but I didn't get all the parts so lll give a 4 star. I would totally buy this product again.

We ordered this for our 5mos old mini dachsund to use at our cabin. We wanted her to have a place to go in order to be bug free and this product is amazing. She loves it and the fact that it has an attached floor panel, unlike alot of other models, means she can't dig her way out of it. We set it up at home as well and she'll transfer all her toys into the octagon in order to wrestle with them. lol I can't say a bad thing about this product.Packs up flat in a flash and takes up hardly any space transporting it. We are thrilled with it.
