It’s a very well-made seeder —as soon as I took it out of the box , I noticed the sturdiness and the workmanship . Also like the viewing window and the heavy wide strap. Received my order in two days…very prompt shipping . Very happy with my purchase .

A waste of money and seed

Whenever you start spreading a ton of seed drops first. You will lose at least a couple of cups of seed.

Works well, easily stored in minimal space.

It's a bit tricky with timing on opening and closing the gate while turning the handle to distribute the product. A little bit of practice and you start to get the hang of it. It's constructed well, quite a bit of plastic but it's sturdy. Overall, the compact size outweighs the complicated nature of operating the gate. I'd highly suggest getting this spreader over any of the small Scotts spreaders that you find in big box stores.

Awesome bag Spreader

Awesome bag spreader for small jobs. Easy to use, the strap around your shoulder takes the stress away from you holding it up. The spread width covers a good 8 ft. The metal bar in the middle of the bag holds it up so the bag doesn't collapse on you and it doesn't matter what product your spreading. It has a bar code for you to scan on the bag that will help you find out what number setting you'll need to set the spreader on. 5 stars on this bag spreader

Great little spreader

I used the spreader to over-seed my lawn this spring. It made the job way faster than when I used the Scott's Whiz. Great spreader for the price

I have a small yard I’d estimate 1200sq ft in front and 1500 sq feet in back. This spreader has cut down the walking big time due to its super wide and even spread. I have been using the plastic Scott’s spreaders (hand held and walk behind) and the quality of material the spyker is made of is far superior! The spread this thing throws out is also far better than anything Scott’s puts out there. The dial system needed a few times to learn but it is not hard. Overall this is the best spreader I have used with out spending big bucks on a walk behind spreader!!

Upgrade your spreader

I have only used this once for spreading lime and I can already tell it is going to cover all my lawn application far better then the spreaders I have used in the past. I have used the Scott’s wizz which was nice as it was powered but would bog down on full buckets and larger pellets, and if there was one cold night in between application you would need new batteries. Due to this I got a Vigoro a manual spreader but again had issues with larger pellets and I can feel the gears slipping due to poor plastic material. Both units also did not have proper capacity and would need to refill multiple times. Along with hand fatigue from holding the units. The Spyker solves all these probably, I can fill the bag with 4x the amount of pellets as other hand held units, I really only need about 2.5 to cover my full yard, but more is better. The gears feel really solid and stainless hardware is needed in the PNW. The strap also puts the full weight on your shoulder allowing you to carry the full 25lbs with ease. I will say it is going to take some practice for spreading in tight spots but I can now hold much more and not have to refill the bag for my yard allowing me to apply the application in one walk though. Super happy with this purchase and excited to apply seed and other fertilizer to my yard year round!
