Juicy, fine, brilliant colors. What more could one want from pens? I am a marker and pen aficionado. (That's the fancy term for freak, hoarder, etc.) I own just about every marker or pen possible and I sadly aspire to obtain more. I purchased a set of these years and years ago, but wasn't impressed - they dried out quickly and left a streaky, washed out color when I tried to fill in small spaces/details with them. After someone on You Tube used them in conjunction with stamped images to make some cards, my curiosity level shot up and I wanted to try these again. At just over $13 when I purchased them, I found them to be a bit pricey, but since you can't take it with you, it's a lot more fun to spend it yourself than leaving it to some "inheritance". (Whomever you leave it to probably isn't going to spend it on something nearly as fun as art supplies, so go for it - you're making the world a more beautiful place. hee hee) These arrived quickly with Prime and I immediately got to work with them. I got these specifically to add some fine detail to my art - and they have not disappointed. At all. The 0.3mm fine line is perfect for small writing, filling in small spaces with color, or drawing fine doodles. I normally prefer a thicker nib - and my handwriting naturally tends to be large and swirly - so it's easy for me to get a bit carried away. Small, fine writing, doodling, or drawing - not my forte. Not even my normal style. Sometimes you have to break with your norm and switch things up, if for no other reason than to stave off monotony. Monotonous art is not real fun. It's much better to break out of the box and shake it up! The beauty of these pens lies in the ink. The colors are wonderfully bright and vivid - and even I don't have any trouble drawing fine lines or writing small, detailed fonts. The ink is smooth and doesn't skip. The pens are smooth and comfortable to hold - although I haven't done pages and pages of work with them. They are even waterproof when dry - not one of the doodles I drew was disturbed when I added water to the page, which I find to be an awesome trait of these pens. Nothing worse than drawing or writing a bunch on a page, then watching it all disappear when you add some watercolor or something else to the page. You won't have that happen with these! Bottom Line: I'm glad I added these to my pen hoard. The colors are beautiful, the pens are easy to work with, and the ink is waterproof. The pens are comfortable in my hand and I love the fine details I am able to create with these and I highly recommend them if you are into art journaling, mixed media, card making, etc. A great addition to any creative's toolbox!
