Backlit Universal Remote Sets Up Easily, as described

This is a good remote control. I bought it so that we wouldn't need to go between using the TV remote control and the Roku control (too easy to misplace one or the other). This universal remote needed no configuring to work with our Samsung smart TV or the Roku. It worked right off the bat. The only thing is that there can sometimes be some "lag time" between pushing buttons in the Roku settings and the TV responding, which is unlike the instantaneous action of the Roku control Even so, this is a good all-in-one solution for those seeking a single remote with the advantage of a backlit keyboard.

Simple remote, just what we were looking for!

My partner's mother is 87 years old and struggles with anything electronic. We got her a new TV for Christmas. Unfortunately the only thing you can buy anymore are smart TVs. She has no internet and no concept of what a streaming app is. She constantly kept hitting the buttons to flip it to Netflix or Hulu or some other built-in app. And never could figure out how to get it back on her own. We had several phone calls from her just in the first month after Christmas! This takes away all those options. Has much larger buttons that she can more easily see. And also more easily push with her hands which have our arthritis. It's been another month since we gave her this, and so far so good! She hasn't got it stuck on a streaming app since.

Bought for my Mom

My Mom has a Vizio smart tv the original remote was horrible for her use. She doesn’t use any smart features or apps just normal tv. I bought this remote control and set it up using the included guide. It’s physically bigger with bigger buttons making it much better than the factory remote. Plus it can’t switch to any smart feature when dropped like the Vizio remote always did.

Great Remote for Seniors

My father has problems with all the buttons on the original TV remote control. I bought this one for him and he loves it. Big buttom & Simple to use.

Great for seniors

We bought two of these. One each for my mother (88) and my mother in law (94). Both of them are very happy with this remote control. It was easy to pair with two different brands of TV. The bigger buttons are a big help to my mother in law who has vision problems. FYI - the number buttons do NOT work on TCL Roku TV's. This is a function of Roku, not the remote control. I knew that going in so wasn't a problem for my mother.

Better but wish buttons were even larger

I bought this for my dad who has macular degeneration. It is better than his old remote but the buttons still aren't quite large enough for him. It was easy enough to program if you are familiar with the process or can read instructions carefully.

Disappointing

It lights up nicely but not easy to programme so that all the features work as advertised. Have programmed several times so that I can control and launch apps like Netflix with it, but I can only change channels on TV and the volume buttons. Very frustrating as the instructions don't mention how to get the 2 app launch buttons to work.

Botones grandes

El producto lo pedi porque era uno de los pocos modelos y creo de los mejores que tenian botones grandes ya que lo necesitaba para una persona de edad avanzada, y funciono a la perfeccion ya que muchos controles tienen botones muy pequenos y/o tienen demasiados que ni siquiera los usamos, y este control tiene los que se necesitan, apagar,subir y bajar volumen, qu etipo de entrada necesitas y silenciar la tele.

Too hard for seniors to understand

This remote is too hard for seniors, when you change channel you have to push button above the channel bar, then the volume will not work until you push button above the volume bar which then blocks the channels from changing. Too confusing for seniors to understand to push the button above to make it work. Would not recommend for seniors.

It did not control anything

I purchased this device to control a Samsung TV, an Android TV box and a Yamaha home sound receiver. I downloaded all the program codes from the vendor's website. I could only control the default device which was the Samsung TV. This device was unable to control any other devices other the default device. I spent 2 evening trying to do the setup, but everything failed. I returned it to Amazon.
