Works as it should

I unboxed it and had it together quick. I ratchet strapped a cinder block on top and away I went on the back yard. Even with soaking the backyard.. wow what a workout. I am also 6'2 and it was tough being leaned over to get it to go. Next time I will load more weight and just pull it. Despite all this, very happy. It is something that is small and light enough, it won't be a pain to store in the garage as well.

Does what it’s suppose to do, nothing more

This definitely puts holes in the ground, and it feels like you would expect from the pictures. Basically pushing a brick or rock around the yard with no wheels. It can be very difficult when you hit a root or the misplaced stick. You have to push this as pulling it does not push the spikes into the ground even with a rock.

Not great for SE clay

This aerator is okay but not what I hoped it would be. I do believe it is the best option and the sturdiest in its price range. However, for those in the SE with clay soil, this is not a great option. With no added weight it skims across even damp soil. With an added cinder block, it it very much like trying to push a block with a broom handle. lol It is also not great for taller users. I am around 6’ 1” and the handles are definitely not designed for people my height. I believe for those with looser soil or sandy soil this may be a great option. For those who have a small area may also benefit but for those with hard clay I would recommend buying an attachment for a mower (if you have one) Or possibly just having a landscaper aerate the yard occasionally.

Sturdy but tines don't turn well

It took a little while to get everything put together, but it worked. Once I got the cinder block in place the tines pushed into the dirt. The tines didn't turn all that well, but good enough. Also, it doesn't work well if you push it, so be sure to pull it behind you.

Poor ergonomics

The product appears to be designed for a very short person, at 6'2" I found it very cumbersome and had to push it from below my beltline as it would dig in and not roll, my wife is 5'6" and she had the same issue having to push from her beltline, the handle seems to be about 20-30 degrees shy of where it needs to be or the handle needs to be longer to reduce the incline of the push action

Heavy

Pushed ok before putting the brick on but wasn’t heavy enough to penetrate our hard ground. With brick on it’s too heavy to push, have to pull it. Brick needs to be tied on. It fell off a lot. Once we figured out all that we tied it behind lawn mower and pulled it around the yard. Had to do it after a rain so the ground was soft enough to dig in.

does the job

The assembly of the product took some time and the instructions were not as clear as I would like, however I did get it put together by myself. It works well at putting holes in the lawn, I just wish that the holes were a little bigger than what they are. Time will tell if it helps with the clay soil or not.

Worth the money

Liked the easy assembly process. Spikes could be cylindrical and more spiky. You need to wet your yard or try this after heavy shower.

Good value for the it's purpose

The aerator works well for its purpose and I'm satisfied with the product. It's not a commercial grade product but for residential use 1-3 times per year on an average size lawn, this should work well. I used a criss-cross pattern to ensure I aerated the lawn sufficiently. Here's a suggestion while assembling the item: ensure the handle is installed at a 45 degree angle (approximately) so that the cinder block sits completely upright when you are pulling the aerator (see pictures). This is not obvious from the instructions nor the pictures on the box. I had originally installed it incorrectly, which made it a lot more difficult to pull. While the aeration is not the same as a gas powered core aerator, it should be sufficient to allow fertilizer, seed, nematodes, etc to enter the soil. I don't think it replaces core aeration but I think you can probably avoid doing core aeration less often if you use this aerator.

Does the job!

This spike aerator does the job it is intended too...the weight that you need to place on the open tray is critical to ensure the spikes cut deep into the lawn roots. It must be pulled behind you (not pushed), making sharp turns is difficult without chewing up the lawn...make wide broad turns & then overlap both ways to ensure full coverage. You get a good workout from using it!

Solido y efectivo

Es una herramienta manual, eso significa que hay que ejecer algo de presion para lograr una mejor perforacion en la tierra, mas si la tierra esta un poco dura Cuenta con una base, donde se puede hacer presion, aunque tambien se puede uno ayudar amarrandole algo pesado, lo cual, sin duda, va a facilitar el trabajo Funciona correctamente y se logra airear la tierra. En mi caso el pasto estaba poniendose un poco amarillo y despues de utilizar esta herramienta, logre que el riego mejorara y que el agua penetrara mejor en la tierra. Ahora el pasto se ve mejor, recupero su color verde

Works as described

As a person reading this review the goal is to understand if this will work for your yard. I can say for my 12k sf yard I pushed this through and it did a great job of breaking up soil, particularly I'm dead spots due to pee. Pushing requires practice to get the right downward pressure without coming to a stop, but I found it less tiring that loading 2x25L bags of soil on top, which worked much better than the cinder block. It is work vs a powered machine. Ground must be have sufficient moisture / not granular for holes to form properly.

Mauvaise qualité prix...

À la première utilisation la tige d'acier qui fait tourner les couronnes dentelées a tordu à plusieurs endroits. Très mauvaise qualité et le prix est beaucoup trop élevé pour la qualité de la machine. C'est la première fois que j'achète une machine de si mauvaise qualité. J'ai acheté ce produit pour un ami et cela m'a causé des problèmes. J'espère que Amazon vont étudier ce produit offert par cette compagnie avant de permettre la vente en ligne. Pour ce prix la qualité doit être bonne.
