It Is Perfect & Well Calibrated With Quality Certificate
It does cost a pretty good price when compared to those cheap Sub $20 TDS meter. I got an old cheap TDS meter I got from Home Depot but the old cell battery was dead and expanded. Didn't known the battery cell was bad and forced into the meter and breaks the cap and battery slot. I hate those watch battery type cells that is not as reliable as AAA size batteries. I had to get a new and better TDS meter that is more accurate and will last a long time. This Apera EC60 Tester Kit Meter can handle 4 types EC, TDS, Salinity, and of course temperature. I wanted the Apera TDS Meter but they were out of stock. For a few tens this one does 2 additional types. I have ran a few tests. Distilled Water Great Value brand = 1.00 ppm TDS R.O. System = 20 ppm TDS R.O. boiled water = 26.9 ppm TDS (Not sure why slightly higher? Maybe the container we used?) Refrigerator Water Filter = 294 ppm TDS Tap Water = 306 ppm TDS ( I think my refrigerator water filter needs to be changed or it is not working to well. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase I made. The EC60 was pre-calibrated with a tested calibrated quality certification and I was able to get a 1.0 ppm TDS on my distilled water. Other features I found out from the quick laminated guide was you can do 7 programs. Changes like option to turn off/on P1 auto lock, P2 leave 1 min default/off/on, P3 - P3 Change temp coefficient and TDS factor for calibration, P5 change salinity type measurements, P6 change temperature from F° to C°, and lastly P6 does restore back to factory default (factory resetting). This might be a little overkill for some but for me who appreciates accuracy in 1% and a high well made meter, the calibration kit, and sturdy carrying case is a perfect whole kit for testing my home water.

Much better and more accurate than the cheap $35 testing pens out there.
A little complicated to use if your electronics disabled other than that this is a much higher quality tester than the cheap $35 testers out there. Higher quality and replaceable sensor probe. Big bonus is their technical support. USA based and very knowledgeable. Can actually speak to someone.

So far so good.
So far so good with this EC meter. This is my first EC meter and first time using one. I was not sure if I needed to soak in KCL for first calibration since technically it had been dry for a month. Also my laminated calibration instructions had said to first calibrate with 84 ms but actually needed 12.88 ms solution. I believe the card covers multiple meter models. I did the 2 step cal with the two solutions(12.88/1413) and that worked fine. I did my first EC measurement and compared it to a friends meter and the values were way off by an order of 100. After doing some research I fond out that my friends meter measured in milli sieman and this measured in micro sieman. After that little learning curve I realized the meter was dead on with the other meter.

Apera ec60 is quality!
This meter was highly recommended to me by several different people. They all said that the ec60 was very accurate and easy to use, once you get the hang of it. They also said the directions were lacking and were hard to understand. I agree, the directions could be a little more detailed, but their customer service department seems to be on point, answering any emails within a day or so. Seems to be a good, well made meter. Meter is advertised as accurate to within 1%, but on my Quality certificate it's listed as 1.5% which should do for most applications. I will update review in a few months time just to keep you informed.

Für den Preis...nicht besonders gut.
1. großes Ärgernis ist die fehlerhafte Beschreibung in der Bedienungsanleitung zur 2 Punkt Kalibrierung. In der Anleitung steht, dass man, nachdem man Punkt 1 (mit der ersten Kalibrierlösung) kalibriert hat, Punkt 4.4 der Anleitung mit der anderen Lösung wiederholen soll. Dies ist FALSCH. Richtig wäre Punkt 4.3 UND 4.4 zu wiederholen. Bis ich durch ausprobieren von selbst darauf kam, waren die Kalibrierflüssigkeiten schon verbraucht. 2. großes Ärgernis ist die fehlerhafte Messung. Laut dem Messgerät (nach "erfolgreicher" Kalibrierung) hat destilliertes Wasser einen ppm-Wert von 18.5. Sollte aber ganz klar 0 sein. Das Behältnis bei dieser Messung wurde vorher gründlich gereinigt (auch mit destilliertem Wasser). An einer Verschmutzung kann es also nicht liegen. Ansonsten kann man sagen, Gerät macht einen stabilen Eindruck. Positiv finde ich auch die 4 Standard AAA Batterien in solider Einfassung als Energiequelle, billigere Geräte haben gerne Knopfzellen in einer simplen Metallklammer als Einfassung. Da ich keine allzugenauen Messwerte, dafür jedoch täglich benötige behalte ich das Gerät. Auch in der Hoffnung das es deutlich länger hält als mein bisheriges für 25 € (es hielt ein halbes Jahr). Alles in allem kann ich für die gebotene Leistung bei dem Preis nicht mehr als 2 Sterne geben und dies auch nur wegen den oben genannten positiven Aspekten.

Decent meters
Had some issues with getting it to cakibrate at first, even had replacement sent out but customer service helped with suggestions and got it working properly. Used all my solutions up calibrating so the company is sending me 250ml bottles of 3 different cal solutions to make up for my headaches.

Finally some reliability
Finally I'm not suspicious of the TDS readings in my deep water culture. Very reliable and accurate. The display on it gives most readings with 3 significant figures. Water of 1200ppm would read 1.20ppt. I would have preferred a four digit display but once used to the 3 sigfigs, it doesn't seem important. The kit it comes with is great. Calibration is a breeze.

Great pen and even better Value!
I received the EC60 in a timely fashion and it came as described. It was calibrated right from the factory and was easy set up. The tester comes with both bottles of solution to calibrate the tester, as well as little bottles to test and a lanyard. I've had cheaper TDS testers and this one feels much better made and seems like it will last awhile. So far I'm very happy with my purchase, I even ordered the PH20 tester to replace my cheap PH pen that always goes off reading.
