Hefty and solid

There is more to these saucers than meet the eye at first glance. I got two and they are heavy and substantial, nothing like the flimsy "terra notta" plastic ones you can buy. The ones I got are large and will need to support heavy pots, the weight of which have actually broken clay saucers in the past. They are also pretty and would fool the eye that they are not actual clay. The only reason I am taking off a star is the steep price; but, I suppose that you get what you pay for. I would order again.

More Substantial and Weighty Than All Plastic

We are using a pair of these for bird baths, and have them on heavy concrete pedestals. Squirrels and raccoons on our property have broken a dozen or so heavy ceramic and terra cotta saucers. For some reason they don't overturn these often, and when they do there is no breakage. The material is a composite, does not flex in any way, and is much thicker and sturdier than plastic. Not the greatest-looking material and a little bit expensive for what it is.

Works great as a birdbath

We use this on a brick pillar outside our den window as a bird bath / water. Perfect size and heavy enough to stay in place.

Looks like Ceramic, and that is Good!

When I ordered this dish for my birdbath, I didn't read carefully enough, and I thought I was getting a ceramic dish to add to the ceramic pedestal I already own. When it arrived, I was at first disappointed as it is a heavy-duty plastic. In the long run it has proven to be just what I needed. It looks like ceramic and goes very well with the ceramic pedestal. Since my dogs have already broken 2 ceramic dishes, I think this will prove to be more of a challenge. It looks great and was just the right size.

its great for the money value but would be better if it was real terra cotta.

Very sturdy

I use 2 for my 60+ lb tortoise, one for water one for food. He steps on it and it doesn’t break like the terra cotta one did.

Nice quality

I know these are a hard plastic but to me they look and feel like clay.. unfortunately it was too big for the planter I had purchased it for but hopefully I can use it under one of the larger clay pots on the deck.

Great Bird Bath

Great Bird Bath. Perfect size and weight to put in my flower bed in my garden to provide much needed water to the birds, racoons, bees, butterflies and other wildlife. It looks like terracotta, which it isn't, but still has a good weight to it so it's won't blow away. I ordered a second one because I liked this one so much.
