Can be used for bunnies if careful

Quick Summary: Can be used for Rabbit Pellets. (would not recommend if using one of those mixed feeds with bits of hay in it. I think it might cause a clog) Each unit for this machine is approx. 1 tablespoon or 1/16 cup. If using for bunnies or any other animal that likes to chew random things, make absolutely 100% sure they cant reach the cable if you plan to keep it plugged in. Removable Steel bowl is lightweight enough for a 3-4lb bunny to toss and play with. App uses a 24 hour clock format. Also constantly thinks batteries are dying even though mine are brand new when not plugged in. ---- I bought one of these to feed the class pet rabbits. I put it in their cage to let them adapt to its presence; I left it empty and unplugged and just manually put food in the bowl for a few days. I probably should have filled it up to make it too heavy to move first because during their investigation of the new thing I put in with them one of them pushed their way around to the back of it and bit the cable. Good thing its also battery powered! (still need to get a replacement cable though) I actually did a few test dispenses with a measuring cup on standby and figured that 4 units is a near perfect 1/4 cup. It works wonderfully with their oxbow pellets and they are very enthusiastic about the machine now that they they know food magically falls out of it for them at 6 AM. In fact, I removed it while cleaning their cage and they all but dived at it when I was putting it back in. They like to take the steel bowl out and toss it around as a toy. That doesn't stop the food from dispensing in any way, goes right into the attached plastic bowl, but if you want the steel bowl to say in I would suggest using Velcro, double sided tape, or something along those lines if you want it to stay removable. Or superglue if you don't. I did have problems getting connected to the Smart Life App at first (because the WiFi at work is unreliable), but once It was set up it was set up. I took the whole setup to a different location during spring break and it continued to dispense on time even when disconnected from the Wi-Fi I setup on. It doesn't seem to like that I am using batteries only because it keeps saying low power nonstop even though the batteries are brand new. App setup is in Military time. meaning a 24 hour clock and not a 12 hour AM PM clock. Its not at all hard to figure out unless you cant seem to grasp that "13" is 1 PM and that "0" is Midnight. I recommend it for all the lazy people that have no problem with portion control for their animal and just want to be lazy. Especially if you do multiple feedings a day and want them at times you might not be there or want to get up.

Difficult setup but works once you get it there

I bought this automatic cat feeder because my neighbor was watching our cat while my husband and I were on a long vacation, and I wanted it to be as easy as possible. We got it two weeks before we left so she could get used to it. It was difficult to get it set up with either of the two available apps. The one that ended up working for us was the Smart Life app. Apps are super generic. Feels like both apps are the same except a different color. Once we got it connected and working, it has been pretty good. The app allows for remote control of the feeder, and there's a record of every feeding. You're able to see if feedings are missed. I like that we can do up to 10 feedings per day. However, there's no information on the sizes of each feed level 1-5. I couldn't tell you how much food is a 1 vs. a 5. We had to just experiment to get to what we thought was the normal amount we feed our cat. Then we observed and adjusted based on how much she eats and if she's asking for food between feedings to make sure the times are right. It's an ongoing process.

Pet feeder

Im not going to lie... If your looking at this feeder, either your bad at portion sizes and your Vet said your pet needed to go on a diet, or you want to be lazy and not feed your pet lol. I work a busy schedule and I wanted an auto feeder for my dog. Hes a medium size dog and eats id say normal size dry food. The portions go up in small portions. So for one cup, I have it set to 15. Not sure how it really measures out- but yea. Its nice to have it go off at the same time everyday. I got the Wifi version, so not that I couldn't see if it is running low, but the app tells me when the food is getting low. I really enjoy this and its worth the investment in my opinion!

Cat feeder

I really love having this automatic feeder. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because the instructions that come with it are ridiculously lacking in critical information (or maybe it’s just the app you have to use - for me it’s the iOS app) Either way, I had to play with the amount of food per feeding to figure out what works for my kitten. Once I figured all that out, on my own, it was good to go. The feeder itself works perfectly. Our kitten was skeptical of it at first, but now he takes off like a bolt of lightning when he hears the food hit the dish. :)

Perfect feeder? It Could be...

The app is great, The feeder works flawlessly. Amazing... I have nothing to complain about. The portion controls go from 1 to 20, number four being about a quarter cup. This works out to be really perfect for cats and you can schedule multiple feedings. It also has a voice recorder that works well If you like that kind of thing. It's definitely a cat feeder... It just wouldn't be big enough for dogs. It's powered by a USB phone charger and has a 3 D cell battery backup. I tried running it on just the batteries but that creates problems with the networking.... it's just not enough power to connect to the Wi-Fi. That said it will still feed your little friend.

My kitty is well fed

Works great. I really like that it has a battery backup when the power goes out. i also like that I can check remotely and feed her that way. I often go out of town for 3-5 days so not more leaving a giant bowl of food for her. She's gotten to the point where she can hear the motor from across the house and starts running for the food dump... LOL

So cool to watch dispense

I bought this to feed my Rottweiler during an out of town trip. We tested it out for a week before the trip and had no issues with it. Simple to set up and program via the app. I love that it can still operate using batteries even if it disconnects from wifi or the electric outlet.

Conforme en tout point a la description ! Le choix d amazon et c est vrai. Rapport qualité prix :Excellent, cepandant il faut comprendre et suivre les instruction en anglais . On peu donner 2 portions en même temps ou une ,entièrement programmable. Fini le mialage de chat , il attend tout près . Bravo !

Convenient feeding system

Portion sizes are VERY small (has 3 options only 3-5g, not 15 as advertised) so I had to set multiple feed times each meal. This feeder would not suit a dog. My 10lb cat requires 4 portions in each of 2 meals/day. Connecting to WiFi was tricky although the in-app help was useful. I had to upgrade my modem but that is likely rare situation. Note the booklets are a loose guide-the app has better detail and FAQs section (i.e. booklet suggests web-based customer support of which I found none)
