Worked perfect

Shot 600 3.5” deck nails right out of the box — not 1 jam or double feed — literally not one issue … the 33 degree nails seem to be hard to find at local stores though …but widely available inline.

Fantastic and powerful 2-in-1

Works as advertised. Bought this to build a large deck. Worked great with Hanger nails attachments and powerful for the 3-inch framing nails. If you're going to buy a mailer, this is the one to get. No need for two separate ones unless you're doing large volume and switching often. Even so, nail guides are easy and quick to change from framing to hanger nails. Did about 10000 nails and not a single jam.

Nice framing nail gun at a good price

I bought this nail gun for some framing work. Its powerful and drives framing nails nicely. I have a cheap no brand compressor that couldnt deliver an adequate flow rate for this gun (it resulted in nails that werent driven in properly). I removed the old regulator and installed a Jet 3/8" FRL. I use 3/8" air hose to connect the nail gun from the compressor. I adjusted the compressor so that the cut-in pressure is at 95 PSI and the FRL regulated at 95PSI. This resulted in predictable and consistent driving pressure- perfect nail depth each time. The nail depth adjustor is easy to use. This gun is at a good price and has saved me alot of time and work (compared with nailing framing using a hammer). Its handled some abuse and some knocks (all accidental of course) and nothing has fallen apart yet. The only negative thing I found is that the spikes lose their sharpness quickly. I use LOSP treated Oregon framing timber which has a slippery surface and the timber spikes occasionally dont grip very well when toenailing or nailing at an angle. This nail gun uses 34 degree D-shaped collated framing nails. This is the standard framing nail type we use in this side of the world. My readings on Amazon.com is that some building regulations require a round head framing nails- you'll probably need a 21 degree collated nail if that is the case. Happy nailing.

Pays for itself in a day

I do a lot of renovations, but not that much heavy framing, so I didn't even know they had a framing nailer for metal connectors and I've been doing things the long way. After a whole house worth of hurricane ties and a large deck of joist hangers, this was a rockstar purchase. I've probably put at least 2000 nails through it with no holes missed. I like the paper tape 33° option of this gun so I don't have to refill clips as often. The nailer is on the heavy side and isn't as well balanced as other tools, but everything feels well-built, I had no jams, and it does exactly what it was supposed to exceptionally well. You can change out the precision point pressure trigger for a traditional framing trigger with the push of one button, excellent design. **** Other reviewers have noted they can't find 33° nails at any stores, I've had no problem with 30° Paslode nails which are in stock at my Home Depot and Lowe's. I've gone through almost a whole 2000 nail box of 2 3/8 inch nails and can't recall a single jam.

Would Not Feed Framing Nails - Returned - Updated

I really, really, really wanted this nail gun because of its framing AND strap-hanger abilities. I may change this rating if the replacement F33PT works as described. The first one would fire a framing nail, then fire blanks. If you racked [pull back and release] the loader, it would fire a nail . . . then blanks. If you racked it each time before firing, it would fire a nail. I tried Simpsons (33-degree), Paslode (30-degre), and Bostitch (33-degree). When unloading the nails, the stick would not slide back with just thumb pressure, as they do in other nail guns. I had to insert a nail in between nails in the stick and pull them back - yes, holding the nail release - to get them loose. I believe something is jamming the nails at the feeding point. I am now finding that 33-degree nails are really difficult to find! They are also expensive. One reason I chose this nail gun is because others' reviews said it fired Paslodes 30-degree framing nails quite well. Since this gun didn't fire any framing nail well, I will reserve commenting on that until I get the replacement gun. I owned this gun three days, and fired 25 nails through it. The strap hanger tip is great for precise placement. UPDATE: Amazon is wonderful in its return and turn-around time. That said - The new one still will not continuously fire other framing nails by other manufacturers. Bostitch nails are EXPENSIVE and hard to come by. Thank God this isn't a requirement, but a nice to have with my projects. Whoever said it would fire Paslodes it totally incorrect in my experience. Do not buy this nail gun - the recurring cost of nails will be very, very expensive. Update #2: this nail gun is unsupportable for framing. I have tried to find Bostitch brand framing nails, and they cannot be found. What good is a nail gun if you cannot buy nails it will fire? Every place I tried, including Amazon, says, "Nails are back-ordered and we have no idea when they will come in. I wish I could rate this a negative number.

Powerful, Versatile, Flawless Function

I am totally satisfied and happy with this purchase of the Bostitch F33PT nailer. It is powerful and fairly lightweight. It comes with two barrel attachments, one with a point that finds the hole in metal hangers used for joists, and the other for general framing. It's quick and easy easy to change over from one to the other; just press one button and the attachment slides out and slide the other one in. I'm using galvanized nails 2.5" x .161 diameter for hangers, and 3.25" x .131 diameter for framing. A nail guidance dowel must be moved from one hole to another for these two sizes but it is quick and painless. I framed a great room sub-floor using metal hangers and this nailer worked perfectly. Saved a lot of time. I ordered the 33-degree paper tape nails from Amazon and they worked great. Nailer comes with two triggers, but I haven't tried the "contact trip" yet which shoots on contact. I've only had this a few weeks but I like it a lot! UPDATE 2/8/19: Still working great! Best tool investment I made!

Ideal first fix nailer

Heavy nail gun but is first rate for my busy construction life and no need for gas cylinders that can go out of date if not used, just hook it up to my compressor and away I go!

Great precision point nail gun

This nail gun comes with 2 tips - one for framing (which has an adjustable depth guage) and one for precision nailing. The precision tip is 100% accurate. Works great for nailing strapping and joist hangars.

Cost savings having two nail guns in one. A framing gun + joist hanger gun

Works great. Very commercial grade. Feels heavy duty. Convenient and quick reload. Somewhat inconvenient switching interchangeable tip and trigger for use on joist hangers, hurricane straps, but having both in one nail gun is definitely a cost savings.

Reliable, good quality.

Good quality framing gun. Had this gun for awhile and have had no issues. Shoots nails in LVL beams with ease. Only issue I have is the nail holder that pushes the nails up, pushes the nails out of the slide from time to time. Which can get a little annoying.
