Will update review after using it

I haven’t used it yet but it looks pretty. It’s not heavy but also not light enough to haul around. The only thing is I just really wish it came with a case. It comes with a plastic dust protector to sit over it but not a actual hard case. I wish I had known this when I purchased, I had just assumed it would come with one

Nice machine

Overall I really like this sewing machine. It’s easy to use. Very easy to wind and load the bobbin and threading the machine is a snap.

Awesome machine

The dvd and app makes it very easy to learn how to use it. The machine is very user friendly just wish it came with a 1/4" quilting foot as it is a quilting and sewing machine.

Pretty good for a beginner!

As a beginner in sewing, I think this machine is relatively easy to use! The clear adjustments for length and width help a lot. Switching between types of stitches is also relatively easy, although I regularly stick to the basic few (straight stitch, zigzag, etc). It's important to note that the presser foot only lifts up around 1.5cm, so if you want to work on thicker projects, it might not be the best machine for you. As I work with thinner fabrics, it's not a problem, but if you're quilting then you might want to keep looking. The automatic threader is also easy to use, and I picked it up pretty quickly despite never using one before (my previous machine from a different brand wasn't great). The drop in bobbin with a clear case also makes it easy to judge when you need to replace it, and it's an SA156 bobbin and since the height is different from regular bobbins, you'll likely have to get extra bobbins from Brother. The light on the machine is helpful if you want to sew in the middle of the night and but the machine can be relatively quiet in comparison to other models I've used (although not from Brother). It runs extremely smoothly and compared to other sewing machines, this one doesn't make my entire table shake for once. This sewing machine is basically my workhorse, I've had it for about two weeks, and relatively no problems. The biggest issue is probably when I'm pushing pedal to the metal and working on high speed, you can smell smokiness or burning? It's probably not good for any machine to undergo that much stress, so I could potentially chalk it up to user error, but keep that in mind before purchasing. Overall, would I recommend this machine to beginner sewers? Yes. It does all the things I need it to and more. For experienced quilters? Probably not, the presser foot might not be high enough for you.

Great machine..nice upgrade

The Brother XR3774 is a really good machine for all kinds of sewing, but especially for new to medium skilled quilters. Not a professional machine but a good upgrade from a regular unit. The included attachments cover a wide range of sewing features, but does not include the 1/4" quilting foot. Odd, since there is a walking foot which is more specialized for quilting and more expensive....

Great sewing machine

This was my first brand new sewing machine. It has been great so far, I've made many pieces of clothing on it. The stretch stiches are a game changer when you are sewing cotton knits. The price is reasonable and affordable. Comes with the quilting extension. I havent used it yet but will soon.

Really enjoying this machine

I am a total beginner and was able to use this very easily. I found the automatic threader to be finicky so I’m doing it myself. It wasn’t why I bought the machine. I like the idea of the bigger platform and am glad I bought this version.
