Pretty fan, not so pretty manufacturer.......
This fan really is beautiful and is exactly what I was looking for. The install was easy. These are not the reasons I gave this fan 2 stars. I bought this fan thru Amazon thru Warehouse deals and it was listed as Used- Good condition. After following instructions for install, I turn on my wall switch for the fan and nothing happened. I took off the switch housing and two of the connectors that are required for the direction of the fan were broken off of the small plastic panel. There was not a way to reattach. I went online to contact Concord Fans to see if I could just get a new switch housing. Seemed easy enough, since I had easily identified the problem. Concord fans are listed under a company called Luminance. The contact info on their website only consists of phone numbers, no email address listed. I called and left a message as instructed. I had received no response after 48 hours so I called again, earlier in the day. I was put on hold to wait for the apparently 1 person who deals with Concord fans. She was not available so my info was taken and I was told I would be contacted. No call back. On the website, it did list an email address for ordering catalogs so I used customerservice@ the email listed and requested delivery receipt. I attached a pic of the issue and also mentioned the difficulty I was having getting a hold of them. I received a call the next day saying the email had been received and asked if I had heard back from anyone yet. I said I had not, so the lady that called said she would check on it and get back to me. Again, no call. I called again today. Again, the lady that is apparently the only one knowledgeable with Concord fans was not available. The gentleman I spoke to was polite but said I needed to contact Amazon (I did and they are great as usual but I still can't just get the stinkin part). He gave me the part number I need for the switch housing but said they don't sell them. I asked if they didn't, then who would, seeing as they were the manufacturer. No real answer given. I can't locate any parts for this fan online anywhere. Bottom line: really is a gorgeous fan but manufacturer is unresponsive and unhelpful. Doubt manufacturers warranty is worth the paper it is printed on. I will try to find the part for a few more days but will more than likely just be returning the fan and will not consider Concord fan or any other brand owned by Luminance in the future.

Exquisite! OMG!
LOVE this fan! Very rich looking - truly looks like wood, but is of more durable polymer composition which most likely will last longer than real wood without any maintenance; great quality. Totally silent. Went up without any problems; no adjustments needed for "wobbling." My electrician was so impressed with the look; quality and fact that it can go outdoors (in protected area) with a "limited life" warranty, that he ordered for himself, and will be recommending to clients. Amazon color description says "orange/amber". Don't let that mislead you, the photo shows true color (on my screen) The "rustic iron" is a matte black, and wood grain is like a dark teak/mahogany. Definitely a great investment! Update... Now 6 months later and this fan is still running TOTALLY QUIET AND SMOOTH - No wobbles; no sounds, and it's runs about 18 hours a day (in Hawaii). I just came back to order another. I do wish it came in a smaller version... 42-48" would be perfect for my smaller bedrooms. Oh well... 5 YEARS later... And this is still running like a charm without any interim maintenance, except an occasional cleaning of the blades. Once in a while there is a very slight clicking sound, but it's intermittent, and not enough to go investigating (maybe a little gecko is running around inside?) I'm updating, because I'm in the market for another ceiling fan. Sadly this one isn't available right now (July 2021 - maybe again later?)

Great fan at a reasonable price!
After shopping around for a ceiling fan that would compliment our West Indies style decor, we decided on this unit. There is no included light kit, which was a small bummer, but we ended up finding one we liked for another $30. What separates this unit from similar units is the carved leaf pattern around the motor housing - it adds a nice touch. Since our ceiling is angled we needed a longer down rod than the 4" length that came with the fan. What I discovered was that this down rod was not the standard width that you'd find in your local home improvement store - it has to be special ordered (standard down rods are 3/4" threading, while this one is 1/2" threading). Anyway, I decided to get creative and looked in the plumbing section - I found a 12" galvanized black steel pipe with 1/2" diameter threading for around $2.50 (compared to the standard 12" down rod price of closer to $12). It worked like a charm! The low speed on this fan is really low - the fan blades circle around lazily and don't move much air, which is nice if you just want to push warm air down. The high speed is really high and makes a nice wind! The medium setting is what most folks will likely use and is a good standard speed. All in all, although it's only been a week since installation, we are very happy with this purchase.

Very nice looking fan. We had it installed on a 3-foot downrod as the ceiling in our bedroom is high. I was afraid that it would wobble and make noise when on such a long downrod, but it's perfectly sturdy and quiet. It's pretty strong and fast and moves air around really well. We thought that the remote is included in the box, but it wasn't. It works with the main switch on the wall for now, but we'll have the remote put in when we have an electrician come for some other installation. Somebody mentioned that it's difficult to find the matching width downrod - we found one here on Amazon (search for Ceiling Fan Downrod by Concord Fans). We also had the matching light kit installed. The light is strong enough for indoors.
