Perfect for security.

I have metal windows that could easily be pried open. So when I leave my condo for a few months, I always put these on. Easy to attach to the windows and would be very hard for a thief to get in without breaking the window. Need to point out that these come in two styles. One with a "built'in" screw, and one that uses a little hex wrench. When I sleeping in the condo, I use the one with the built in screw in case of fire. When I am gone, I use the one with the wrench. Also, if you go to a store to buy these, take one with you or they won't know what you are talking about.

These hex screw locks are great in theory but my window type doesn't allow for ...

These hex screw locks are great in theory but my window type doesn't allow for me to use the hex tool to crank the lock into place. The area is too small to twist the hex. I cut one of the tools so it could fit but this doesn't allow for a person to really secure the lock down on the side of the window.

I like that there is an option, not to use, the twist knob. The kiddos know how to unlock when that is used.
