Works great but understand the size of the sticks

This is actually 2 separate reviews in one: one from me and one from my cousin. I was looking for materials to make brass rubbings. I'm not much of an artist so I thought these would be bigger. When I received them all I could say was "duh!" because I should have known better. They work fine for rubbings but because of their size they don't last very long. The packaging is great- it stays closed and I don't get dust all over nor do they get broken. I would say they are a good value for drawing and sketching but not so good if you are using them for large rubbings. They work well for what I used them. I was able to pick up a lot of detail in the brass. Fixative holds it well. I would use this again if I were doing a small plaque with a lot of detail. My cousin is a proper artist and she loves this brand. She was impressed with the price as well. She traded me for what I had left for a sketching to be done at a later date. I will probably buy this again for her birthday.

Very Pigmented!

I don’t use charcoal, but I had to buy them for an art class so I’m not an expert with charcoal. I would say for beginners, use gloves! cuz this will leave major marks lol. Also have a paper or something under your canvas or paper that you are going to draw cuz it will have dust. I feel like this will be good for someone who is actually good with charcoal, only downside is that they break easily. Overall I would say this is good. (I was trying to do leaves art lol)

The best

This is the best soft charcoal I’ve ever used. It is the same charcoal that the school instructor at college required as well. Price isn’t too bad but we are also in the middle of a pandemic and war so everything is inflated!
