Good educational collection
I got this kit for parts to use with an electronics text I've been reading. I've used roughly half the components so far and they seem to all work fine. To be fair, I haven't gotten to the more complex components yet. Things are logically organized and parts aren't difficult for a novice to identify. You *will* need to look up the color bands resistors, capacitors, and inductors. I like the box it came with. The little walls in it are removable, so you can organize the different sized slots as needed. I ordered additional parts more specific to different labs I want to do and they fit with no trouble. Elenco makes some kits as well. I've built their FG-600 Function Generator. The thing works well and was very cheap. I'm convinced that Elenco is a decent label.

Full of cool parts
This kit is full of cool electronic parts for use with the Arduino Uno. I bought it to get a variety of stuff. I haven't used many of them yet, but the ones I have used worked as advertised. Shipping was on time.

I found this parts kit nice for what it is. If you have a specialized project you likely may not find the parts you need here, but if you just need a collection of parts to get various projects started this will work fine.

Very good starter set, if all was included that is.....
hello, im a college student and purchased this basic parts set so i could save myself from driving all the way to an electronics store since it is like a 30 mins drive just to get there. this comes nicely packed with all the components in different plastic wrappings segregated by part type, resistors in one, capacitors in other and etc... comes with a nice and sturdy plastic box with no flex in any of it surface, and also comes with some separators so you can arrange the inside at your taste, have used some of the components in a couple of projects and they've all seemed to work flawlessly, the only problem with this set is that SEVERAL parts are missing, like all the 220 resistors, the buzzer, the LM386, 10k potentiometer, and more that i tried to find using a list that has all the components included. was looking to make a 20w amplifier with this and couldnt :S i guess ill have to drive anyways :( PROS: -Sturdy and reliable arrangeable box. -Components I've used work. -Nice plastic wrapping avoiding all the parts get mixed. -Comes with a list with all the components in it grouped by category. CONS: -SEVERAL PARTS MISSING!!!! -A bit pricey CONLUSION: buy only if you're willing to gamble that parts that you need from this.

The components in this kit are frankly a bit disappointing and I think there are better deals to be had. I bought this when getting back into electronics after I had sold off all my previous electronics components prior to a cross-country move. When I got started in electronics, I read Charles Platt's Make: Electronics and bought the component kits that go along with it. Frankly, those kits are a much better value, even though they cost more, and the fact that they have a book to tell you what to do with them makes them even more valuable. This is not a great kit for experienced electronics hobbyists to stock up, either so I am not really sure who its target audience is. The problem is that it contains only two of each value for various components (or five in the case of resistors), without regard to whether it's something you'll use all the time, or some obscure part you'll struggle to find a use for. 2N3055 power transistors? Silicon-controlled rectifiers? Sorry, I just don't see these being that useful for an typical electronics hobbyist. These are parts you would order for a specific project, not things you'd need for a well-rounded getting started kit. As another example, they include seven-segment displays without any logic chips to drive them. What would be more helpful is to replace the more obscure components with more of same values for common components. I could have used 10 resistors for each value instead of 5, and 4 capacitors for each value instead of 2. Better to have 10 2N2222 and 10 2N2907 transistors instead of 2 each of a bunch of random transistors you'll probably never use. Likewise, I would have preferred 10 1N4148 and 10 1N4001 diodes instead of 2 each of 7 different, more obscure, kinds. More LEDs and maybe even a few RGB LEDs would have been helpful. And instead of a random collection of 74LS TTL logic chips, how about 74HC, and instead of some random decoders and flipflops, some shift registers and seven-segment drivers would be much more useful in a modern context. I wish someone made such a kit, but so far I haven't found one. As it stands, you're probably better off buying assortments of resistors and capacitors and then ordering the rest of the parts you need separately.

Good Product for the price
Everything came exactly as stated. One thing I did notice is that about 10 percent of the items were out of the expected tolerance range but since I only bought as an addition to parts for recrational/self learning use, that is not a big deal. If however, you need any of these components for circuitry that requires precise tolerances, I would look elsewhere.

I was looking for something which would provide a lot of components at a great price for the electronic experiments I was doing. As this fit the bill nicely I would recommend this to any hobbyist looking to engage in a greater number of hands on experiments.

Missing many parts
I agree that the kit contains good quality parts, but Many parts from the kit label are missing. Very disapointing. There are no inductors, no relay and probably more, but I was tired to go through all the list.

Excellent kit. I've tested most of the parts now, all good. It contains most of the common "jelly beans" to get your started, including op amps (358), 7400 series TTL chips, optocouplers, 555 timer ICs, 386 audio amplifiers, inductors, caps, resistors, LED 7 segment displays, MOSFETs and transistors, speaker and lots of other goodies. The description is accurate and the kit is of fine quality. Not concern there.
