9/18/2022 - I've upgraded the review to 3 stars, because the seller quickly shipped me out a brand new rack (this one does not have the flaws the first one did) and informed the factory of the welding issue, so it can be addressed. If it's fully intact and functional it is an adequate rack, but certainly not top quality...nor should you be expecting commercial gym level quality in a low priced squat rack such as this. It will serve its purpose and is better than the racks that don't have the lower crossbar and weight racks at the bottom to help stabilize it. WOW!!! What a HUGE disappointment! Where do I start...I was really looking forward to getting this rack to add to my home gym. I don't expect perfection by any means from most "home gym" level equipment, but this thing is unusable!!! 1) the shrink wrapped package containing all of the nuts and bolts broke open during shipping and they were scattered all over the inside of the box...came up 2 washers short, also! 2) Not 1, Not 2...but THREE faulty welds on the lower part of the legs....that's 3 out of 8 welds on just TWO pieces of the whole set up that were 100% faulty...this makes for a DANGEROUS rack...the legs could crumble at any time! Not only that, but there were only welds on two sides of the 4 SIDED square tube steel....why not just weld all 4 sides...just to save a few pennies on cost??? I assume this must have been welded by a machine and not a person...but who knows? The fact that it left the factory this way means to me that there is ZERO quality control at this factory. I am literally shocked this got sent out in this condition. I went ahead and assembled it anyway, but it is completely unusable in my opinion....SCRAP METAL, at this point! Or, I weld it myself or pay someone to weld it. 3) I wasn't expecting commercial grade quality...just a decent enough rack for my home gym...I liked the idea of the cross bar at the bottom to add stability and the weight racks to store plates on (not only to store extra plates, but that will help weight it down to make it more stable). BBBUUUTTT, the gauge of the metal is pretty thin and when you torque the nuts down it seems to take only a moderate amount of torque to start creating a concave "bowing" to the tube metal....seems like it's way too thin. 4) The upper squat rack "bar holder" is too short on the back side...it should be at least 4" tall so when you go to rack the weight after doing a set of squats, you run into that tall support and know exactly where to drop the weight so you don't miss the rack....and it could be 3-4" wide at the bottom instead of just a couple of inches...you have to be very accurate with your bar placement before you drop the weight or you'll miss the rack altogether....a bigger "hook" would go a LONG way to make this a less stressful user experience when re-racking your bar.

Good for the price

The only issue is the bar support is small. If you’re not careful you might go right over the top and miss it.

works for the price . studier than expected

much sturdier than i expected. especially with weight on the back storage post . Left 215 on the j cups over night in my squat position and it held up just fine . The j cups on the top are trash and I wish the could be changed. that is the only down side. padding that comes with it is a nice touch too . cheaper, but better than bare metal . Outside of the j cups, nothing to complain about . Very much worth it if you are just starting out and don't imagine lifting over 500 lbs. for a while . great space saver for garage and home gym .

It’s a Value Home Gym Rack

So if you are home gyming it, I assume you aren’t competing for Mr. Olympia or an NFL position. This isn’t for the level. The metal will even bend if you tighten the bolts too tight. Having said that, for most dudes and most all women, this will serve its purpose at a decent price. I recommend taking a pic of the instructions with your phone, then blowing it up so you can actually read them. Tiny slip can’t be read by non-fairies. Solid 4 star-rack unless plans are to roid out and lift super heavy. But for most people, who are keeping under 300lb sets, it’s just fine.

Erector Set

Some of you , actually most of you , Don't know about an erector set . But it came with what seemed like a thousand pieces . This looks that way when you first open the box. But I must admit that it did come together easily and pretty quickly , if you are a little mechanically inclined . Good piece of equipment .

It's good but make sure you have your own wrenches for assembly

The wrenches provided were injection-molded garbage. You'll want to have two wrenches to really get it to work. Also, if you want to be able to disassemble this squat rack later, I recommend ordering a set of M10 nuts to go with it. Reason is, it ships with "anti-slip lock nuts", which, combined with the bad wrenches provided, can make both assembly and dis-assembly really hard. If you want to dis-assemble it into parts later on try getting normal M10 nuts
