So much better than Harbor Freight

After breaking two Harbor Freight rubber mallets during vinyl flooring and retaining wall projects (rubber head split in half both times) I decided to bite the bullet and buy a nice rubber mallet. I'm not disappointed at all, just wish it wasn't so expensive...its just a piece of rubber and stick of wood. Anyway, you can definitely tell a quality difference in the rubber and I am confident this one will last a few more projects than those cheapos.

Wonderful Mallet

I used a dollar store rubber mallet to pound chicken to tenderize. When my cheap mallet broke I wanted to replace with a made in USA rubber mallet. This Estwing rubber mallet is the most wonderful mallet. The length of the handle is perfect. The circumference of the rubber mallet has a nice large hitting area. The quality is superb. I pound skinless chicken breasts to a uniform thickness before grilling so as to have the breasts cook evenly and not have thinner parts dry out. This is a kitchen only mallet for me.

I just replaced an Estwing rubber mallet I've used and abused for years. These things take a beating. The hickory handle is comfortable whether your hands are large or small. Other brands I've used don't measure up. You want Estwing.

Great Tool!

Very well-balanced and well-made, as I expect from Estwing. I have small hands and the handle is comfortable and allows a secure grip while in use. The only con, on a comic note, is that my husband keeps borrowing this mallet and it’s not in my tool box when I need it! He will receive one of these as a gift to resolve that issue. If in doubt, buy two, it’s a really nice tool.

I bought this for my husband and he loves it. We are putting down a new floor so it is getting a lot of use. The handle is made of real wood so hopefully it lasts long.

A must have for a new home owner's tool kit

Rubber mallets are generally useful for furniture and equipment assembly, and other tasks where you need to hammer a part into position without damaging anything. I prefer the 12oz because of its lighter weight and smaller size; it fits into my tool box more easily. The handle on the Estwing is comfortable and the rubber head is well formed. It gave me the impression that it’ll last a very long time and it has been serving me well to date.

This is an excellent, high quality mallet and is still made in the US, unlike some other Estwing hammers that are now coming out of Asia.

Everything estwing makes I a step above the rest.. I have several different estwing hammers in different weights, and love them all. This mallet is very well made. Just heavy enough to be useful, and won't Mar furniture..
