This Vacuum Really Sucks!
We had a 20-yearold Eureka bagless that broke, and this was the nearest we found. Glad we did! It's a little larger than the broken one, but a bit less large, heavy and cumbersome than our old Hoover upright. And a lot lighter in weight! This one (somehow) came with the extra pet-hair mini roller brush, but I had to go look up the Bissell version on line to find out how to take it apart for cleaning the mini roller. Works the same, and the device is REALLY useful for getting into small places. We have a long-hair cat. With 8 amps, this thing really pulls up dirt! Seriously pulls up dirt! I set it to the low "Carpet" level, for an old shag carpet in the trailer house. I'm living here, but the owner's been here for a long time. I've been cleaning with that old Eureka, and it's (I thought) been pretty clean. I was getting a lot of fuzz, cat hair, and some fine dirt, but all in all, okay. Then I used this guy! Holy Cow!! The first pass after setting it up, there was almost an entire "bucket" container of something greyish-brown. Plus a lot of fuzz and a lot of cat hair. I asked the owner, who told me that many years ago, she'd had a flea problem and sprinkled diatomaceous earth all over. Fixed the fleas, but she never cleaned the carpets. Suddenly, I'm using this new Eureka and it's pulling EVERYthing out of the carpet! After only two times using it (back in April; it's now September), almost all that "dust" was gone. Now, I'm getting general dirt, cat hair, dust and carpet fuzz. Normal. 1. After the first-time use, with the massive amount of "newly discovered" dirt, the roller bar was almost entirely clear! No wrapped hair or anything gunked up in the brush bristles. Amazing! 2. Disassembling for cleaning, I found that the main vacuum body was almost entirely clean! No outer dust anywhere on the plastic. The only dust was at the connection hole between the body and the container bucket -- easy to clean with a swipe of a sponge or rag. 3. Cleaning the container and filter was pretty simple, but a little bit of time involved. Cleaning: A push-button on the top handle releases the catch bin as a complete unit unto itself. There's another button near the bottom of that basin, which then releases a gravity-operated "lid." BE SURE TO KEEP THE BOTTOM OF THE BUCKET WELL BELOW THE UPPER EDGE OF YOUR TRASH CONTAINER! By pushing the release button to open the bottom of the bucket, you're simply dropping out ALL the crud you've picked up in the catch basin! It comes flying out, dust-cloud and all! Still, there's some remaining junk clinging to the clear plastic bucket walls. I like "BANG!" cleaner spray, which is cheap (Dollar Tree), and works very well. I also have a spray attachment on the kitchen sink, which makes it very easy to get water inside the bucket "tube." There's a plastic "clasp" or catch you pull on, to open the top of the overall basin. I'd imagine that catch will eventually break, but who knows.....none of the plastic on the 20-yearold ever broke. With the bottom open and the top hinged back, you can clean the entire catch basin. It's large enough (easily) that you can get your hand in there with a sponge. The BANG! makes it easier, and water rinses it all out. The entire filter section comes apart, which is why I bought this. You lift out the filter assembly (the instruction manual shows how), and there are several parts. The filter itself is foam with some sort of paper on top. It's there to prevent dust from blowing into the motor, and both the bottom (foam) and top (paper) got totally covered with dust. Being gentle with it, I was easily able to clean it under running water. I couldn't find these round filters anywhere in stores, so ordered a 6-pack of replacements on Amazon. Not all that expensive. I've used and cleaned this vacuum now probably 8 times (since April, it's now September), and the filter is still pretty together. I can see it's going to degrade, but if it lasts four months (or more), then I only need to replace it three times a year. Very cost effective. And this place has all the old micro dust along with the cat hair, so the filter has to get cleaned after each use. For "normal people" and their homes, I think you could use the cleaner several times without cleaning every single time. The attachments are all there, easily stored on the body of the machine. The hose attaches to the roller base during upright use, and comes loose to attach to the handle for portable use. DO follow the instruction manual! The places for the attachments, and how to connect the different hose operations aren't immediately obvious. Some people complain that the roller bar always turns. The old Eureka had a 2-way switch for upright (with roller bar), and portable (for smooth floors and portable use). This power switch only is On/Off. I don't care. You can raise the level of the roller for "wood floors," if it really makes you anxious. All in all, having sold vacuum cleaners in the past, I'd have to say this is one of the most powerful machines I've ever seen for its size, weight, and price! Yes, it's all plastic, to keep the weight around 8-10lbs or so, but today's plastics are pretty rugged. I'm thinking it'll last long enough to be a good investment.

I LOVE THIS VACUUM!!!!
We bought this vacuum when we lost our usual cleaning service to lockdown. I'm getting old enough that I can feel most of my joints when I move, and wanted something lightweight and easy to use--which my shopvac wasn't. I can't say how pleased I am with this vacuum! I think the most important thing about it overall is that whoever designed it actually used it--it's full of small, thoughtful features that make it a joy to use. But to start with the big things: --Suction power is great. The height of the brush roller on the front end is adjustable, from bare floor to high carpet, and between the brush and the vacuum this things does a great job deep-cleaning carpets, from tight/short-pile Persian rugs to handmade braided rugs to 20-year-old medium pile wall-to-wall. The front of the floor sweep is less than three inches high, so you can get under furniture/toe-kicks/etc. The brush depth adjustment is a big flat knob there on top of the front of the sweep, is easy to adjust, with solid, positive click-stop feedback at each of the half-dozen positions. --On stairs, it's a champ, mainly because it's incredibly light-weight, with a well-designed and carefully-placed handle that makes it easy to move from tread to tread. --Hair. We don't have pets, but we do have a couple of people in the household with very long hair, and a fanatic quilter who sheds bits of thread more than any dog I've ever had, and it does a good job picking up after them. Like any vacuum with a brush roller, if you turn the thing over and pull/cut out whatever gets wrapped around the spindle every few uses, you'll probably prolong belt/brush/motor life, as well as preserve its efficiency. Other things I like: --Emptying the dirt. Like most uprights these days, this machine uses a clear plastic cannister with a foam filter to protect the motor and keep fine dust from recirculating--no bags. To empty the cannister, you push one button conveniently placed at the top of the cannister and pull it off by a large handle. Hold it over (or, better, in) the trash, push a button at the bottom, and the bottom flips out of the way, dumping the contents. The foam filter at the top of the cannister is easy enough to remove and wash. I don't know how long the filter will last, but the material is not the flimsy foam rubber that you see, say, in cheap window air conditioner filters, but a slightly coarser, harder material that I've seen stand up to repeated cleanings in other applications. To my mind, the great thing about these cannisters is that if you accidentally scoop up loose change, you can usually see it sitting on top of the pile and fish it out. --Special tools. I love the way these work. There are three tools included with the basic unit (at the next price point up you get another tool, I think a slightly fancier surface sweep). They are conveniently placed around the body/handle of the upright--nothing to move out of the way to get at them. They're securely attached but easy to pop off, ditto for attaching to the vacuum. They attach to a hose that connects the motor/blower unit to the floor/brush sweep, usually draped over a hook on the back of the upright handle. You detach the hose (a simple pull) from the back of the floor sweep and there it is, ready to suck. You can attach tools directly to the hose or, if you want more reach, the handle of the upright comes off (again, you just push a button), adding about two feet more of reach, and a comfortable, sturdy handle. The hose goes into the top of the handle and the tool goes on the other end. With these, it's easy to get all the way under sofas, behind cabinets, etc., and control the population of dust bunnies. We have a lot of Victorian era furniture, and the brush attachment does a great job of getting the dust out of all the gingerbread. --The small touches. Take the power cord, for instance. It's a generous length, and there's a small plastic clip just below the handle on the back, which I believe is intended to hold the nearer length of the cord off the floor so you don't run over it all the time--thank you to the designer who put >that< in! To store, it coils between two prongs placed about two feet apart on the back of the upright, which isn't special but what is special is that the top prong rotates: to free the cord for use, rotate the top prong 180 degrees and the whole coil drops free. Love it! The controls (the handle release that allows the upright section to pivot back from the floor sweep, and the on-off switch) are both easy to get at with your foot, easy to tell apart, and separated well enough that you're not likely to mash one when you're going for the other. --Assembly, shipping: Easy to put together in under ten minutes, with clear instructions if you're the kind of person who reads instructions. It came in a sturdy carton, all materials recyclable, and despite the potential delays caused by the pandemic, it arrived (in perfect condition) in two days. All in all, I can't remember the last time I was so happy with a small household appliance. If its durability is on par with the rest of the quality I see here, I'm hoping it will last a long time. But even if it doesn't, the thing was such a bargain compared to everything else on the market that I won't feel abused even if it only lasts a year or two. Great job, Eureka!

Strong suction but blows dust out everywhere.
Ive bought 2 of these & initially it works great We have 6 dogs and the machine handles all the hair well and has a big canister cup to hold hair and dirt. Weought extra filters even tho these are washable, but even starting with a new filter, turning it on it blows dust out of the intake everywhere!!! I do not see any way to change this filter in the front lower part of machine. We put a mask over the air return to try and stop all the dust that shoots out. This is NOT a HEPA filtration system. & no matter how much i cleaned, i had heavy thick dust everywhere & we were both coughing and sneezing alot. Also keep replacement belts on hand as they break if u hit the end of a rug tassel. Im going to purchase a shark with HEPA filter & pet hair option and see if out dust and allergies improve.

Good value for the cost
Used this vacuum maybe 4 - 5 times and I like it. Great suction and got dust that apparently my old vacuum wasn’t picking up. Cheap looking plastic but light weight and easy to maneuver. You have to put a little weight behind it but it’s not heavy by any means. Cord is a good length, I can do most of my 900 sq ft apartment without needing to switch plugs. Fairly noisy but I wouldn’t say worse than other vacuums I’ve used. Two features stand out to me; all attachments hook onto the vacuum for easy storage, and the height adjustment for bare floor and carpet. I have tile and medium pile carpets and it works great on both. Overall would buy again. I’ll update this post if anything changes.

Decent value
I would have given this vacuum a four or five star rating however the hose isn’t long enough even with the extender handle added to it. When I reach into corners or crevices behind furniture the vacuum ends up tipping over. All the time. I would love if the company sent me an extension piece. The other drawback is when I empty the container of debris I often have to stick my hand up there to remove the dog hairs that have swirled around the upper section. Pros it’s very light weight, has great suction power, easy assembly.

The Perfect Vacuum for Braided Rugs!
We have a very large braided wool rug in our living room as well as several smaller braided rugs throughout the house. The vacuum I was using, a Dyson, was removing the dirt but at the same time it was catching & pulling up the loops of wool in my rugs. Even with my Dyson’s roller bar turned off this continued to occur because I couldn’t move the brushes out of the way. I searched local stores but found no vacuum that would lift it’s brush section high enough not to snag the rugs. Finally a Google search & a recommendation from a carpet manufacturer led me to the Eureka Power Speed Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner. With the adjustable dial turned to ‘High Carpet’ this vacuum sails smoothly over our braided rugs as it powerfully lifts dirt, crumbs & hair. I was amazed at what had accumulated in the vacuum’s dirt collector & not a single pulled loop in the rug! What a find!!!

Good Cheap Solution
Great vacuum for its price. Easy to use and nothing proprietary like other vacuum brands, filter can be washed and no special batteries. Is not the highest quality vacuum, for a decent vacuum though for its price its good.
