Recommended to us by our child's speech language pathologist and they're really amazing. They don't cut anything but paper which makes them safer for little hands!

Special needs friendly

My daughter has Down syndrome and her fine motor skills are her biggest struggle. Regular scissors have not worked for us at all. Then I saw these! Wow what a great invention! She is loving being able to cut paper!!! We're still hand over hand BUT I can tell she will one day be able to do these without my help!!! Thanks for such a great product!

My son loves these

These are great! I had hard time getting my 5 year old to learn to cut. These did it and in a short time. He is already using regular scissors correctly and he's only been using these for a very short time. I think maybe a month or a couple of months, definitely not more than 4. I'd have to look when I ordered them however it wasn't that long ago. He still prefers these over regular kid scizzors but that's okay they cut paper very well so he can do his cutting and pasting activities.

Better than You Might Think

These things are fantastic! I was buying a few pair of high quality scissors for the house and these were suggested. I have a 3 year old that loves to cut things, and, while these aren't the cheapest option for safety scissors, I was interested in the fact that they are all plastic, safe, and can't cut many things that aren't paper. Once they arrived, they are even more fun than they look on Amazon, the quality seems very good, and I haven't managed to cut anything around the house other than paper. While the deed to the farm is still at risk if the little guy goes after it, I don't have to worry about an emergency hair cut or him updating his clothing to match the latest fad.

Safe and actually work

I got these for my 2 year old. It didn't take long for him to learn how to grip them correctly. They really only cut paper so I was able to let him have more freedom with them which was more fun for him and allowed him to figure them out and get comfortable using them. One note: The scissors work better with thicker paper. I usually give my kiddo cardstock or index cards to cut up. Thin paper has to be held taut for them to work.

Great for grasping, not so much for cutting

You have to be sure to hold the paper and scissors just the right way to get the blades to cut. Would be better if the blades were metal. Helped my students with delayed fine motor skills learn to open and close their hand.

Good for first scissors. Easy to use

Very easy for my toddlers to use. Way better than regular kid scissors. Only complaint is they can't cut through any more than a single sheet of paper. I'm glad they can use them with their tiny hands, but my kids often fold their papers and get frustrated because it won't cut through a folded paper.

One of the 3 scissors malfunctioned

2 of the scissors are perfect, the spring back is great. I like that there is not a loop (often degrades and breaks). The 3rd pair only partially spring back (maybe 1/3rd of the total of the other 2).
