Saving some serious Bucks!

If you have never changed the drain pump on your washer? You think it might be difficult? Wrong! With the help of Amazon providing me the part, I was able to fix a leaky pump in 20 minutes. Fantastic service from Amazon provider.

Don't buy this pump

I ordered this pump to replace the leaky one in my washer. The first pump I received would only spin if there were no pressure from water in the pump. If I removed the drain cap to release water the pump would begin to spin once the water pressure dropped enough to almost nothing. So I returned that pump for a replacement pump since there is something wrong with the first one. Well the second one I received had the same problem. I thought maybe something else is wrong with the washer and maybe that first pump was fine, so I re-installed my old leaky pump as a test. It leaked but worked perfectly fine otherwise. So I returned the second pump for a refund. I ordered a third pump from another online retailer but that one had the same issue. So I dived deep to figure out what was wrong. The washer checked out fine everywhere (draining water from tub correctly, timer working correctly, power to pump worked correctly). My only conclusion is there is something wrong with the new pumps in their manufacturing. I did notice that all three pumps were slightly physically different than the original that came out of the washer but only barely different. All three pumps were branded the same and came in boxes with GE branding. To fix my washer I went to my local automotive parts store and purchased some plastic reinforced epoxy putty and filled in the crack in the housing of my old original pump. Now my washer is back to working fine.

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to replace this pump. The problem was obvious and the solution was easy. I'm so glad I decided to research this pump on Amazon rather than paying an appliance repair person.
