Works well and nice quality, but QC needs to be better.

First of all, I'm giving this saw only 4 stars due to quality control. I had to send back my first one due to the work light not working and the motor sounding rough. But, with the replacement, it works well and this is really a nice saw. It isn't ins tended for large projects, but for trim work and smaller projects, it will work nice. I love the fact it has a blade lock for installing and removing the blade. I wish all the companies did that on their circular saws. This will be a nice replacement for my old 14v saw. It is getting difficult to find batteries. And I only have one and it is dying. Plus this saw is lighter. The battery charges fast. Not a fan of the charger, it isn't a base like all my other chargers, it is just a module you put on top of the battery to charge. Not a big deal, it is just personal preference.

Powerful Little Circular Saw

I am currently installing laminate flooring throughout my house, and I was looking for a compact circular saw to rip cuts on 12mm planks of wood. I've rated the GreenWorks 24V Mini Circular Saw 5 stars based on the following: - This set comes with everything you need to get started. It includes the circular saw, blade, allen wrench, guide, charger and a single battery. The instructions are easy to follow. The only assembly required is to install the blade on the circular saw, which was a straightforward and simple process. - As far as power goes, it is about what you would expect out of a battery powered tool. Definitely not as powerful as an electric tool, but it gets the job done and you can’t beat the versatility and convenience of a battery-operated tool. - This circular saw is on the smaller side and it is easy to handle. The included guide worked perfectly for making long and straight cuts on my 12mm flooring. - The circular saw has a bright LED work light that helped increase visibility of my pencil line as I was cutting. - Making adjusting to the circular saw depth and bevel is as easy as adjusting a wing nut. The depth can be adjusted from 0 to 1.5 inches, and the bevel can be adjusted from 0 to 45 degrees. - The one suggestion I have would be to order a backup battery. While this circular saw has a decent run time, I had to switch to my electric circular saw because I ran out of power. One of the nice features with the included battery is you can see the power level on the battery at any given time. Once the battery was depleted, it took approximately an hour and a half to fully recharge. Overall, this is an excellent quality mini circular saw that does not disappoint. Highly recommend.

Good little tool

Good little tool. It comes with everything you need to get started quickly. Very easy to install the blade with the included wrench. Nice that it comes with an edge guide. The big issue I have with it is that there is no place safe to put your other hand. Not having a handle or bump is a huge oversight. I'll note that the battery doesn't last very long either. That said, it's a small, portable, easy to use, and light. So could be right depending on your intended use. But I would DEFINITELY get one with a handle for the off hand. Others in this price range have them.

Why??

The media could not be loaded. Well I have this saw for about a week. The weather got better so I could do my project. It work well when cutting 2x4's. My problem came up when I switched blades to cut my floor boards. The blade that I got and installed was a finer blade type , I tight and ready to cut. I started to cut and the blade started to stop moving , so I checked and saw that it was loose and not secured. So I check and the nut and washer was tight but the blade would not stay secured. I check the manual to make sure I did the install correctly and if a washer was missing. But nope I followed how to do it. If anyone has this thing, did you have the same problem. Also THERE is nothing on the Green works website about this thing now on YouTube. It's like I brought a discountinued tool. Any help would be great

Easy assembly, simple instructions, good weight, quality material

The attached pictures pretty much speak for themselves. the main highlight of this product is that it is completely battery operated. it comes with one battery and it comes with the needed charger. In the attached photos you can see all the parts that come with the product. It has two sets of manuals, one that is very simplified and then also another that is more in depth and detailed. I highly recommend reading the in depth instructions - just because this is a dangerous tool if you don't do things correctly. So just follow the directions. The tool itself is quite easy to handle, but it does have some weight to it - however im not planning on just walking around with the tool, its supposed to have weight to make it easier to hold a straight line while cutting. As seen in the attached photo, it has a notched area where you can insert and store the hex key for easy access (which is pretty nice). It also has a built in light underneath the saw which I think is really helpful as well. The buttons dont feel cheaply made - they are not difficult to press down and don't stick. And lastly, there is an accessory that this comes with this that allows you to hook of a vacuum hose to get rid of the debris! Now that is handy! Overall grade = B+ - A-
