Good Paint but Be Careful With Storage

I used this paint to cover the floor and joists of a garden shed. I used a Lowe's low price paint sprayer. The results are beautiful. I followed the instructions; the floor was left unused for about 14 days to cure. The paint is very tough, and still looks new after two years. A word of caution, however. The acrylic formula is very corrosive to the steel can provided by the manufacturer. I stored two leftover gallons of this paint, opened them up to re-use, and while mixing them discovered that the paint had corroded holes in the bottom of the can (the stirring stick broke loose the rust). Lucky for me I mixed the paint on a plastic tarp! The manufacturer should consider warning the user that leftover paint should be removed from the can and stored in a plastic or glass container instead. I don't know whether acrylic paint can be or should be shipped or stored in a plastic can right from the factory. Good luck!

Consistent application and coverage, real paint!

Wow I'm really impressed with this paint! Used for a basement, previously painted floor, with some scaped down to concrete patches from old carpet glue. Final clean with diluted bleach. I tried a small section with an equivalent Rustoleum paint first which was very thin and did not cover with one coat. Also the Rustoleum was not semigloss as stated, more like flat. I should have heeded other reviewers. This INSL-X paint has a normal paint thickness to it and covers beautifully with one coat which is important when paint costs $50 a can. Nice satin to semi gloss finish. Sand color as advertised. Recommend!

Great coverage and consistency

I'm so happy I went with this paint for my porch! The color is exactly what I was expecting. The picture is only one coat and it covered everything. The finish is perfect. And it went on pretty easily and smooth for the rugged and porous surface I painted. I just hope it lasts. I'm doing a second coat tomorrow, I have high hopes it will.

WHAT AN AWESOME DIFFERENCE it made

Used it on my patio- two parts- one a slab of cement, the other pavers in very poor condition. Wish I had taken a before and after photo. Your paint brought both of these pieces of my patio together and they look great together. So thick and smooth to roll on. Will use your paint again for a project like this!!!

Gorgeous “rope swing” color

Gorgeous color (desert sand). If you’ve ever seen the Trex “rope swing” color… it’s very similar. Like a very very light brown (in the can reminded me of a super milky iced latte). One Photo is on an overcast rainy day (raining, which is why it’s so shiny, otherwise it’s like a slight sheen). Other photos taken full sun after dry. White railing and balusters here are Clark+Kensington ultra white. This white is a very “cool” white, a very white white. If I did it again I would probably pick more of a brighter white with a yellow tinge (like Polar White by Behr) Choosing the color was the most stressful thing for me, a lot of other companies and products offer so many colors and sometimes those colors can look way different on such a large area. This INSLX desert sand has nailed it in terms of the sort of washed out light brown. Not too yellow, not too orange. Note when wet it looks a bit more… “pink”? I panicked a bit when I opened the can but now dry it looks perfect. Great coverage even in 1 coat. Followed can instructions as closely as possible (surface and air temp above 50F, not within 5degrees of dew point which just means not too humid… no rain and 24 hours before 2nd coat). Prepped deck with TSP wash and scrub, light power wash, 2 days of drying, light sanding with 80 grit, then primer. I used Kilz 3 (though technically not rated for floors… the INSLX aqua wasn’t available in time for me). One coat on even with a 9” roller and saw full coverage. I was in a rush for time so rolled the first coat with 3/4” nap but I brushed on the 2nd coat next day to get in all the cracks and in between boards. This stuff was able to fill in biggg cracks. I wanted to make sure there would be a full 2 days to dry before rain (daytime temps around 50-60 night time around 40). Looks beautiful. Will update in a year on durability… 30 year old deck looks brand new! Tip for novice painters like me: balusters are THE WORST to paint. I used a small 1” brush. They take forever. Prepare yourself…. I decided to prioritize the floor with ideal conditions / right after primer and I’ll finish the balusters later. Also, shipped very well. They individually package each gallon in its own cardboard box. Watch the little video in the photos for how to take off the plastic ring… hadn’t seen that one before. Good luck !

Excellent results and my handyman will be buying this and/or recommending to others

We have a huge amount of desk space which was far more than I was willing to tackle. I am fortunate to know a young couple that are willing to take on such a tremendous task in the middle of a hot summer. They of course pressure washed and sanded where need be. As this is a new house to us, the previous owners had not taken care of the decks, and we put down a primer before this product to make sure the wood condition was prepped properly for this product and durability of the wood. The couple that put this on did so in a sprayer. They were very pleased with the ease and one coat coverage of the product. I still look out my windows just to admire the decks. The new house exterior color in light clay and beige really sets this deck color off. It has been on for a couple of months now. With light people traffic and a large limb that fell of a tree onto the deck the paint looks like brand new.

Just what I wanted

I ordered the Grey and the colors was perfect. I didn’t use a primer but I put three coats and it looks great. I did an area of 8’X10’ and I only used about a half a gallon.
