My dog loves this bed!

I wasn't sure how this was going to be received. My dog is a rescue & he's pretty neurotic, but we travel with him a lot, & I was tired of hauling his big bed through the motel all the time. I set this up at home to get him used to it, and he hardly moved from it for days. LOVES IT! The pump that comes with it is junk, buy yourself a battery operated pump & adapter tip to save yourself a lot of time & frustration.

Good but a major pain to pump up unless you have a compressor.

Our dog is getting older and less active which is a bad thing as my toddler is getting more active and wants to constantly touch and play with the dog. Saw this bed and wanted to try it out as the dog is having issues jumping and we thought that an orthopedic bed might help her out since her joints are hurting. After getting it aired up, Bijoux treated this bed like a second home, which is surprising as it normally takes her days to ‘warm up’ to using a bed. Since she does have issues jumping lately, I liked how one area was ‘opened’ while the three other areas were raised, so it was not much of a jump to get into the bed. Another great thing about this bed is that it is waterproof and machine washable. This is a major plus since Bijoux is starting to have more accidents and we have had to throw away a couple of beds she loved lately. The bed is comfortable because Bijoux doesn’t try to move around but just finds a spot and just sits there. Half the time she is grumbling trying to find a comforting spot on her other beds, so this was a nice treat to not hear her as she walked around trying to find that ‘just right’ spot. Two things that are keeping me from giving this a five-star review. First airing it up is a major pain. Don’t even bother with the included pump. When I first opened the box and started pumping it up, my wife was wondering what the sound was. The pump sounds like an ostrich screaming for help every time you press it. Needless to say, that sound was very annoying. Plus, it takes FOREVER to air up either of the beds. So, unless you love that sound, best bet is to us a compressor as it only took 1 minute in comparison to the few minutes I tried with the hand pump. Next trying to put the bed into the sleeves is a two- or three-person job. My wife compared it to being a bridesmaid helping a friend squeeze into a wedding dress. I have no experience with that, but this was awful to do. Other than those two complaints, this is a great product, and it is Bijoux approved! Sadly, a couple of days after getting the product and typing up my review, Bijoux passed away. ☹

Pets are using it but seem to prefer their old beds

We have tried this bed with both cats and small dogs. Cats tend to love warm beds that retain heat. This bed doesn't do that which makes it ideal for dogs, especially in the hot summer months. When we take our dogs for a walk, they like to stretch out on the hardwood flooring to help cool down. They never get into their bed during this cool down stage. I have found that they will go in this bed even when cooling down! The material itself feels sturdy. I was worried that it would puncture easily since it's inflatable but we haven't had any issues with it yet. (and if there ever is a small puncture, it does come with a patch kit) Even with the wimpy pump that is included, the bed is easy to inflate. If you have your own electric pump, I would strongly recommend using that. If not, this one still does the trick, it just takes a little longer. (and feels a lot flimsier) Once inflated, the bladders slide into the removable cover and you're ready to go! I love that everything is easily washable. Cats throw up and when they puke in a plush bed, it is so difficult to wash! With this, you can wash the outer part in the washing machine and just wipe down the inflatable bladders if anything soaks through. (which makes is convenient for those with incontinent pets, too) One of our cats is almost 19 years old. She has arthritis and it's difficult for her to get in and out of beds with high sides. She is easily able to get in this one. Most of our pets seem to prefer their old, plush beds over this but it's still a good quality bed, especially for dogs that prefer a cooler sleeping environment.

Expensive, but perfect for hot dogs in the summer (see details). Recommended

I have a lot of dogs... and consequently a lot of dog beds. Generally speaking, they're pretty much all the same, with some variation of size, shape, and plushness. The K&H Pet Products Inflatable Air Dog Sofa Bed (Small, Navy/Geo Flower) is a pretty big departure from my usual purchases. The K&H ships as two inflatable bladders, a washable cover, and a dinky hand pump. It helps if you under-inflate the perimeter bladder, as it won't fit in the cover if fully inflated. If you have an air compressor or a bike pump with different inflator tips, you'll probably want to use those. As for the bed, it's alright. If your dog likes a really fluffy bed, this isn't it. However, there is one REALLY BIG benefit, which is that the bed doesn't really retain heat. While that may not be the best thing in the winter, it's really awesome in the summer. If your dogs are like mine, it's not unusual for them to lay down in bed for an hour, and then head over to lay on the bare floor for a while to cool down.... with this bed, they don't do that. So far the cover has been durable, and the bladders have stood up to the scratching that precedes my dogs deeming the bed "ready" to lay down on. The K&H is definitely more pricey than I'm used to, but it's really you best option if your dog gets overheated. Recommended
