Karman S-115-TP Transport Chair Review

I am a retired engineer that purchased the Karman S-115-TP transport chair for use with my wife who is 5'-1 & weighs 205 lbs. The chair is very comfortable because of its ergonomic seat design. It also appears to be very well constructed for its purpose. It uses some plastic parts & has an 6061T-6 aluminum alloy frame to keep it light weight. It is NOT as strong and durable as a steel bariatric wheelchair because it is designed to be light weight & foldable. Sorry, but you can't have your cake and eat it too. My wife likes the height of the arm rests and the brake handles can be easily reached by my wife or myself ( I'm about 5'-7'') when pushing her. A taller care giver might have more trouble reaching the brakes. I have the foot rests in the last hole which puts them about 2" above the ground. It is perfect for my wife. It is the only chair she has ever used that does NOT force her legs up into her abdominal area (causes breathing problems) when on the foot rests.

Karman Customer Service Manager NOT good

The Karman Customer Service (to be distinguished from Amazon Customer service) was NOT good. The manager did NOT know the product & had poor excuses for what was ultimately addressed and solved by the customer. Karmen Service Manager literally tried to play "lawyer" and talk his way out of helping with a chair that was 1 day old and had been sat in once. He would have rather taken a RETURN than fix an issue.

Very light weight and Convenient Transports!

Bought for 205 lb patient. Comfortable. Very light weight. Good quality. Great for transporting long distances that he cannot walk. Comfortable seat.

Excellent shipping package and very easy to assemble. This wheelchair has impressive features and weight and is easy to store in the car and unfold for use. My wife love wheeling me around in it compared to conventional wheelchairs.

This is a great wheelchair. My mother is on the heavy side ...

This is a great wheelchair. My mother is on the heavy side 200+ ...I bought this about two years ago and we have been very happy with it. So far, only one loos screw ..which I fixed it in no time.

Light and easy

I am able to lift into trunk myself. Easy to manuver on level sidewalks. Very comfortable and my husband loves the longer armrests.
