Fine Bone China w/ A Fresh & Lovely Floral Pattern For Any Occasion

Kate Spade Birch Way fine bone china is made by Lenox. This 5-piece setting for one is an attractive and beautifully crafted set still made in the USA. While it has a contemporary look, it includes the traditional pieces in other Lenox sets including a large dinner plate, salad plate, bread/butter plate, cup and saucer. The pieces appear to be banded in 24 karat gold, though I don’t see that in the description. Some pieces I received have a blue ink dot on the bottom, which signifies this is authentic Lenox china. This Birch Way pattern has a crisp white background and floral design, and it alternates patterns using similar designs among the five pieces. They perfectly compliment each other but aren’t exact matches. Two pieces have more delicate floral details that stand out in mostly soft pink, gray and a darker green, while three pieces bring in similar details but also have larger and richly colored dark green and blue leaf details. While the design leans toward being feminine, the larger green and blue leaves keep the pattern from looking too dainty and delicate. Anyone who likes florals should enjoy this pattern. The floral against white is light and airy so that Birch Way is perfect for spring and summer entertaining. Yet the addition of the deeper green and blue leaves makes this a pattern that I can also use year round, especially because I live in sunny So Cal and seasonal changes are mild. Plus, my dining room looks out to the backyard with a lot of foliage, so it suits my environment. This pattern is versatile in that it’s elegant enough for an evening dinner party but has a fresh look that’s equally lovely for a Sunday brunch. Birch Way is a more contemporary and relaxed design than many patterns. It isn’t stuffy or so fancy as to only be used for entertaining. I don’t use my Lenox fine bone china everyday, but I do use it often even when there’s no special occasion as it’s too pretty to just stow away and it brightens up my day. And these can go in the dishwasher and are strong enough for regular use. Kate Spade Birch Way is a fresh and lovely pattern that would be an amazing gift or pattern for a registry. I love it. 5 stars.

Pictures don't do this pattern justice

In the pictures the details and the colors seem somewhat muted. That is not really the case: This is a striking pattern. This is not the pattern you would want to choose for your once-in-a-lifetime china pattern, but for a few place settings for intimate dinners or for the coffee service and salad/dessert plates, this pattern presents a striking visual effect. If you have already chosen a subdued pattern in the Lenox line, one with gold-rims and white, (not cream, not ivory), fields, this pattern will add some drama. Why not good for your basic, life-time china? Because it will not match with all food types, nor with all holiday decors. Always consider that when choosing a china pattern. But Lenox is wonderful china: It's durable and it resists chips and knife cuts. At least that's what my decades-long experience has led me to believe. Lenox is an American company, and most of it's dinner china is made here.

Luxurious Garden Party

When I saw this set, I knew I had to have it. It's so unique. Each piece in the setting has a different design, but they are all cohesive. The design really reminds me of a luxurious garden party. What I love about the Kate Spade collection by Lenox is that all of the designs can be used in a mix-and-match fashion. For example, the Larabee Road setting goes really well with this one. It's easy to set an eclectic table with this collection.

Good quality and simple yet pretty design

These came carefully packaged in a kate spade box. This set is bone china, chip resistant, and perfect for dinner parties, holidays, or display. The design is pretty simple, but yet beautiful and elegant. I hand wash but these are dishwasher safe as well. How gorgeous are these?! Even the box that they come in is beautiful. They were very well packaged and shipped securely. Let’s talk about that beautiful design, shall we? The gold trim & use of color gives this a whimsical yet elegant look and feel. The tea cup is beautiful and my favorite piece.

I adore this place setting. It's beautiful, delicate and floral. It's just so pretty. Great quality. Almost too pretty to actually use and perfectly giftable.
