Surprisingly great!

I hesitated in buying this ruler set because, based on some reviews, I wasn't sure I could really use all of the edges. So, in my search for a good, single ruler with a deckle edge, I found them either too long and/or too expensive for my use. Finally, I decided to just go ahead and buy this three-ruler ser even if I could only use the one. The price for the set of three was better than the price for a single ruler, it is clear so you can see exactly where your tear line will be, and it is conveniently sized--not too long for working on a desk or craft table. Also, the professional crafters I follow on YouTube all use this ruler with much success. My set arrived in perfect condition. I immediately tested each edge on 20# paper (regular copy weight), and all performed beautifully. Each edge was clearly torn in the shape of the ruler's edge. Next, I experimented with typical scrapbooking paper-- not the heaviest, but significantly heavier than copy weight. No problem! I haven't used these tear rulers with heavy cardstock yet, so I don't know how that will turn out. This might be where the included water pen would come in handy. So far, I have not had a need to tear long, straight lines of heavy cardstock. Keep in mind that these TEAR the paper. The edges will look torn, which is the point, isn't it? If you want clean, crisp edges, you will need to use a different tool, such as a pair of special edge-cutting craft scissors or a paper cutter that has special slicing tools. Tips for success: 1. Be sure to hold ruler down FIRMLY so the paper doesn't slide as you tear. 2. Tear toward yourself, angling the paper a bit over toward the ruler as you tear. 3. When using heavy cardstock, try moistening the edge you want to tear with a bit of water first. (water pen included for this purpose) So, I am so glad I finally purchased this set of tear rulers! The price is right, and the various edges are fun!

Super-sturdy, super useful

I've been using these rulers for a couple of years now, and I'm impressed with how versatile and useful they are. They make tearing a straight line--or a designy one--easy and quick. They're sturdy and they produce great results. Recommended!

Heavy Duty Plastic - Made Well

I haven't used these yet but they should work well because they are good quality and very sturdy plastic.

Makes tearing pages easy and consistent

Keeps the pages in my junk journals looking consistent and makes the pages seem more professional. Great for paper projects if you are someone who likes to have unexpected pages rather than straight cuts.

A little flimsy

I basically bought this set for one of these rulers and that is the one for ripping deckled edges on watercolor paper. Depending on which kind of paper you are trying to tear depends on how easy it will be. A water pen comes with it to aid in softening the edge for an easier tear. When I tried 100% cotton paper with 140gr weight it was very challenging to get a good rip. Maybe letting the water soak into the paper a little longer will help and I’ll try that next time. They are made of plastic that is quite flimsy so you do need to be a little careful not to break it. Deckle edge rulers are hard to find and I have only seen one other kind and it was $40. It would be nice to be able to buy one a little cheaper without having to purchase 3 , 2 of which I have no use for.

LOVE

Not as sturdy feeling as I thought they would be, but they will do their job effectively I'm sure. I have used each one at least once already and they are working great. Not sure how long they will last however. But for the price, you can't beat it! Walmart was asking for one of what I could get 3 for at the same price. Just had to wait a couple of days, but worth it!

More than I needed

I mainly bought it for the small deckle edge ruler, so I thought it was pricey as I don't yet have a use for the other two rulers and have never seen anyone use them in craft totorials. If I could find a use for the others I would. Rate them a strong 5 all over instead of a weak 5 or even 4 over all.

Expensive but effective.

Only wanted to buy the fine deckle edged one. Other two redundant. Used for trimming unprinted edge off printed digital papers.

Great tear ruler.

This is the best tear ruler I have ever used. However I only use one of them, so I wish I could have purchased them separately.
