Handy size and great power!

Used it for polishing concrete and did great except would recommend finding antivibration type handle as the vibration is hard on wrist

Another solid Metabo product...

I prefer this Metabo polisher over rat tail designs because of these reasons. The Metabo is shorter in length, weighs only 5 lbs, 13 amp motor that doesn't get hot, rear air inlet, and the planetary gear system to name a few... The unique planetary gear system is the key to his polisher...It is located downstream from the standard pinion-bevel gear arrangement...This pinion-bevel gear system is used in all Metabo grinders which are known Worldwide for there power and dependability..The planetary gear system allows the polisher to develop more torque at all speeds, but especially at low speeds which puts the most demand on the tool...This extra torque allows the Metabo to have a smaller motor which weighs less and also produces less heat..The standard rat tail polishers which do not have the planetary gears require a larger motor to develop the necessary torque which in turn weighs more and produces more heat... I used this grinder for about 8 hours of which I put quite a large demand on it...I polished some marble at 2000 rpm, sanded wood and metal at 800-3000 rpm., polished a vehicle at 800-1800 rpm, ground some concrete at 3000 rpm...The PE 15-30 accomplished this with very little speed loss and the motor didn't get hot...Granted this polished isn't listed as a grinder but it has enough power to do so... The compact short length and the less weight (5 lbs) allows the polisher to be used in the vertical position with less effort from the user..Anyone who has used a polisher in the vertical position any length of time understands the benefit of less weight.. I'm a huge fan of this polisher and with a little more exposure I think it will become a stalwart in the industry... kd

Hi Power Hi torque Hi DB

This is a great tool with lots of power and torque that being said the one downside to it was the noise it's really loud. It's a high pitch gear whining sound Sound pressure level90 dB(A) Sound power level (LwA)101 dB(A) sound. Tech specs from Metabo website The switch on the side is smooth as butter and works flawlessly real easy speed control nice and light feels comfortable in the hand very sturdy. The only other complaint I would have about it is the thumb screws that hold the D handle on protrude so you really can't hold the polisher where the D handle meets the grinder because of those thumbscrews protruding

High Pitch Scream

This thing did not live up to Metabo quality as right out of the box had a horrible high pitch squeal that either should come with ear protection or hearing aids. I have had several polishers from a cheap Wen to a cordless Milwaukee. Metabo was the most expensive and worst of them all by far. So bummed!

took it out of the box plugged it in to test and it started smoking !!!!!!

I am very upset with this grinder it started smoking when I plugged it in for the first time.I have at least 7 of there other grinders that we use on a daily bases .I know they will replace it with out any trouble it just sucks because I really needed this grinder for a big job.
