Quick, accurate, stable base, love it!
While I want to do additional accuracy testing (I have access to good digital remote temp sensors)... My testing says this gun does put out. I've used for a few projects already. Love the heft, the controls (after I spent a few seconds learning), and especially the stability of the built in rest for cooling or for two-handed work. No other gun I've found comes close. Well worth a few extra bucks.

Great heat gun plenty of control over the airflow and temperature
It has great control over the settings i only wish I could turn the heat completely off but to turn it down to 120 is good enough. I love how the switch has off 1 and 2. They each have the settings saved making switching from hot to cold very fast and easy

Solid gun, but HPT really botched the stiff plastic cord.
I like the gun. The heat settings are easy to use and it's held up well -- it's handled about 200 2-hour long coffee roasting sessions so far. But dang, the cord is so terrible. It's cheap plastic and lacks any sort of suppleness. Even if you're using this at room temp it's stiff and nearly unbearable. Every degree colder gets worse to the point the sometimes the gun falls over out of the tail-down rest position because the cord is so stiff. Meanwhile they gave it a nice 5-year warranty so I don't want to open it up and replace the cord with something better and lose the warranty. So for now, I wait and curse this thing every time just because HPT didn't spend an extra 20 cents to put on a flexible cord.

Useful for searing food
I bought this to sear meat that I cook in my Sous Vide oven. I had seen it used for searing on Sous Vide Everything youtube channel. I used to use a propane torch, which would shut off a lot and then need to be restarted. At the hottest setting, browning with this heat gun does take a bit longer than using a propane torch, but I like that there are no fumes to affect taste and air quality. I bought this unit because it is 1500 watts and 8.8-17.7 CFM.

Depends what you use it for
I got this heat gun for sous vide cooking. I am sure it will come handy for many more applications but right now, that is what I will consider for my review. It was recommended by Gugafoods on Youtube to char the outside of the meat after sous vide cooking. The reasons I am giving it only 3 stars is because it takes forever to get the proper finition. I was misled by the fact that this youtuber speeds up the moments when he does it but taking 10mn to finish a piece of meat is too long for me. Apart from that, temperatures can be set with an electronic display and there are two types of airflow. There are also a bunch of accessories to adapt to your needs and a nice carry case. Pricewise, it was definitely not the cheapest.

Awesome heat gun.
This is my first heat gun, and I love it. I have no basis for comparison with other heat guns. I love the digital temperature display. The gun is very light weight and heats up unbelievably quickly. I have been using it to strip paint off of an old, metal porch glider and have used it for hours at a time. I have knocked the gun off of my shop table a few times. With the use and abuse, the gun is still working great. The gun comes with some accessories, which is just a bonus. I highly recommend this heat gun.

Great heat gun but a faulty bearing - fixed by Amazon
Only gave this 4 stars because the bearing in the motor sounds like it is going out. Great heat gun - set the temp and it shows you the actual temp of the heat until it reaches the set temp. Amazon is awesome - they are sending a replacement. That’s why I don’t shop big box stores anymore.

Temperature is not very accurate
I bought and used this for a project and found the temperature is inaccurate. I measured it with a high temp thermocouple it was off by 10-20%. The temperature was consistent and steady, just had a significant offset. Otherwise nice and solidly built.

Seem decent but finish on this tool is not that great
Appears to be a decent tool but I was expecting the finish to be higher quality. I can see scruff makes as if this item is used. But it probably isn't used since the heating plate had no visible on since of it being used (I knew because I was burning it in and ran it for 10 minutes). The accessories included have sharp edges so best to be careful. I bought this heat gun for searing meat because I'm sick of stinking up my entire apartment and making my floor greasy. I haven't tried it for my application yet but will test this out soon.

excelente equipo
cuando la compre hace un año aun no tenia definido si me serviria para algun proyecto en particular queria tenerla y si la neceitaba no me hiciera falta, la eh ocupado desde cosas sencillas como encender el carbon para la carne asada, hasta retirar pinturas que con solventes tardaria y gastaria demasiado y es ahi cuando entendi que no fue una mala idea haberla conseguido, buen precio fue una super oferta. me gusta la marca el diseño la pantalla digital los accesorios que vienen incluidos. como recomendacion si lo vas a usar mucho tiempo la linea electrica puede sobrecalentarse es un producto que consume mucha energia electrica por lo tanto puede que tus contactos o extenciones se fundan.

Works great! I really appreciate the quality build and feel of this tool. The adjustable heat settings make it very versatile. The carrying case is made well also.

weak
power is about same as milwakee or mikata. slightly hotter and blower is stronger. not noticeable. worst thing is power code wire rubber is burnt from tip of heatgun. and heatgun died in less than 2month.
