Try these before going to a foot doctor - see UPDATE

Pain behind 2nd-3rd toes of one foot when hiking/running and even later at rest, probably Morton's Neuroma. These pads actually are helping quite a bit. The only complaint I have is that they are difficult to keep in place when donning socks, especially if the socks are tight/stretchy (Swiftwick, for example). The silicone should be firmer/less elastic. Takes a bit more effort getting your shoes on, as you have to hold the pads in place with one hand while tugging your sock down over your heels with the other. They pick up a bit of sock debris, but it rinses off easily. Good option to try before actually visiting the podiatrist or foot surgeon. UPDATE: I've had these 2 months and used them about 15 times. One now has a 3/4" crescent-shaped "bite" out of the edge (no idea how that could even happen), and the other has a quarter-inch tear right next to the toe loop, so it's going to be useless soon. These are a good concept, but the material needs to be firmer/stronger. I won't buy them again.

I liked the concept, and the padding material was very good. Unfortunately, in actual use they create more problems than they solve. On the right foot, the loop over the second toe caused the toe to go out of joint (ouch). On the left foot, the fourth toe bruised (ouch). As others have mentioned, getting them fit properly inside a sock is a bit of a challenge, but the main problem is that they appear to transfer stress to the other toe joints, creating more problems than they solve.
