The reason I only gave a 4 star rating is because the poles have a hole drilled at the bottom to help line up the pole so that when it is assembled to the ground stake the hooks will be positioned properly. The poles are not uniform as to where the hole is drilled. I thought I could put the stakes in the same position so all I would need to do was to insert the pole on the stake and the poles would be facing the right way so that the hooks for hanging the chains would all be in the same direction. As it turned out I had to remove some of the stakes and re-position them. There should have been a jig set up to make sure that all of the poles were drilled to make sure that they are all uniform.Other then that everything is good. The ground stakes are solid enough to drive into the ground without breaking. My ground has a lot of small stones and it is difficult to drive in the stake without them moving.

Do the job, terrible customer service though

I ordered these last year for our seasonal event. We see about 1000 people/day and these are fantastic for creating barriers in our field to control the crowds. With one major caveat the stakes for the poles are made of a rather brittle plastic; they break easily if you miss a bit with the rubber mallet while putting in the ground (I think I lost probably 4-5/100 stakes to this last year) The stakes also break easily when bumped into or kicked; which, with crowds containing people, they will be kicked or knocked around and subsequently broken. I suggest if purchasing these, that you think of the stakes as consumables if you plan to use/remove these in a high traffic environment. My real complaint. I wrote the company on their website asking for them to sell me just the stakes. As of writing this, still no response, quite disappointing.

They do what they need to

I live on a block where many houses, including mine, do extravagant Halloween decorations. Many hundreds of kids come to the block each year, so I needed a way to keep the kids off the grass and the decorations intact. These did the trick quite nicely. I'm currently in year 3 with a few broken parts but still functional. I may have to buy a 6-pack for replacement parts in a few years. These are not very solid (just plastic) and won't hold back a real crowd. But they're easy to use and reasonably priced (a bit expensive for plastic, but significantly cheaper than alternative stanchion solutions other than DIY).
