Great clamping pressure

Bought this because other reviews mentioned the spring pressure was adequate. Works way better than a cheaper circular type muff that came with my boat. Seals decently against the outdrive, for maximum water intake.

Did not fit flush and engine overheated

I'm sure these are all different experiences per motor. All I can say is that for my motor (Johnson 75hp 2-stroke) it did absolutely no good. I thought maybe I'd still get enough water through it if I blasted it but it didn't work. Heat shot up and it shut down. It had large gaps between the water intake and the cups so it just didn't seem to stick on correctly.

It Works!

The unit goes on easily. It is very sturdy and heavier (in a good way) than my last one. The only "ehh" about it is that It seals best when I pinch the cups on the water intake. It works well as is and works great when I apply hand pressure, but the whole 'not having to squat down and using my hands' was the reason that I bought it in the first place.
