there's a small problem
I have one of the older Palram 6x8' greenhouses with the 2020 extrusion design. Which I love! I inserted the t-slots bolts and the black plastic fitting attached to the mechanism has "walls" that wont allow me to put the nuts on. It's always sad to "modify" a brand new item that cost $70! I had to turn the holes into slots. then I could screw the nuts on. By the way, I looked at the instructions for quite some time!!! easy just put the bolt in and thread the nut... Which is very very difficult when the Mechanism is trying to close on you! Note: Attach the top side during the day when its hot. so it opens. Then wait till evening to attach the bottom part when its closed. Otherwise lots of fighting! LOL

BEWARE: For ROOF, NOT SIDE LOUVER
If you invest in a greenhouse, this accessory is a must! We installed it in our Palram greenhouse and I can’t say enough good things about the unit. It automatically opens and closes at around 68–70°. Unfortunately, you cannot adjust it to open a cooler or a warmer temperature – which for me is a drawback. The other drawback is that you cannot bypass the automatic opening and close it in the event of a storm for example, or if you want to put more humidity into your greenhouse. That said, the greenhouse warms quickly unless you are diligent enough to get up early in the morning and open the window manually. It should be noted however that this unit is NOT The one to use with the Palram side louver window. That is a completely different unit which functions the same but is built differently. Overall, I rated this unit four stars because it functions as it should and is worth the money for that reason. It could be improved upon if you could easily bypass the open and close, and perhaps also if you could adjust the open and close temperature a bit.

Illustrated instructions
Wish it had written instructions along with the illustrated instructions that would be great as at times the illustrated instructions were hard to understand. Overall, once it was installed we are very happy with the worry free performance of this automatic opener...

Worked well at first. but no customer service when it failed
I bought this Palram roof vent opener when I bought my Palram greenhouse last spring. I didn't do any research, because it made sense to order the same brand as the greenhouse. It was a little hard to install, but we were tired from building the greenhouse. It worked fine all last summer. The directions said to take it off for the winter if you have a heater in your greenhouse, since you don't want it opening & letting the heat out. That's what I did, and put the manual opener that came with the greenhouse back on. This spring when it started getting hot in there, I tried to put the automatic opener back on. Sadly, the piston was leaking & the opener not working. I found out that you can't buy replacement pistons for this opener. Palram was unresponsive to my questions. This time I did my research & ordered a Univent from Agricultural Solutions instead. It can be unhooked at the bottom if you don't want it opening, and it even comes with a velcro strap to hold it closed in a windstorm. You can buy replacement pistons, too. The Palram roof vent opener was fine at first & I like their greenhouse, but I wouldn't buy this opener again.

BUYER BEWARE OF SELLER!!!! They refuse to contact us at all despite us receiving a defective item.
I am not one to write a review. I do everything I can to resolve any issues through Amazon/seller. I ordered 2 of these window openers for our greenhouse. I installed them myself. The directions were lacking but I am rather handy and got them in without much problem, especially after reading other recommendations in reviews here. After installation, we were keeping a good eye on their function to be sure our greenhouse was getting proper ventilation. One operated perfectly from minute one and is still working perfect. That is the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1. The other opener from minute one did not open that far. We thought it may need a couple days to adjust but nothing changed. We verified proper mounting and check the adjustment screw. Nothing improved. I reached out to Palram through Amazon, as there was no option to return available. I was sent to their site and given an online form to fill out. That was many weeks ago at this point and I have yet to receive a response. In the meantime, several days later, the opener quit working completely. We now have to manually open and close the window everyday. After several online message attempts with no response, we called their customer support. It would endlessly ring and eventually go to voicemail. We left messages but none were returned. We started calling frequently and eventually got a person. Told her our problem and was told we needed the "right department". She transferred us and we got voicemail again. We have called repeatedly leaving messages and they refuse to contact us. At this point we have chosen to leave this review hoping to spare others the same fate and maybe inspire action from the seller. We will also be directly reporting the issue to Amazon corporate. We are out $45 on a completely defective item. DON"T BUY FROM THEM! BUYER BEWARE!

This closer works but might need some customization to fit your greenhouse
Once you have this closer installed, it works very well. NO complaints there. It is a very good closer mechanically. The only problem I had was adapting it to fit the frame of a Palram Bella greenhouse. The closer is advertised as compatible with this greenhouse model but I could not get it to fit using the supplied hardware. To make a solid connection between the lower half of the closer and the frame of the vent, I had to make a custom L-shaped bracket. That took some time but was absolutely necessary for the Bella.

Hardware is to short for the metal brackets After paying this much for a kit it is disappointing to have to go and purchase different hardware.

Would Recommend for Palram Greenhouses.
Easy to install and work as advertised. No complaints. More expensive than other auto vent kits, but the easy install on a Palram greenhouse makes up for it.
