Not easy to install, but that is the boat manufacturer's fault. Instructions call for "bedding" material to be used inside between the washer and the sidewall; I used a sealant. This should work fine and won't fall off.

Good for 20 years

The salt environment will eventually corrode these. However, the previous vents lasted over 20 years. The reason that these are not that easy to install is not the fault of Perko but to the boat builder that places these vents in difficult to access places.

Gas Tank Vent

I fit like a glove in the original hole. It helps to have a boat that has lots of room to install this but it works great.

Exact replacement for failed unit

The vent perfectly replaces the existing unit which corroded away after 20 years, and looks identical from outside the boat. Installs easily as the outside vent piece slips over the inner protruding tube fitting, and is tightened from inside. Only downside is that it is still zinc die cast with chrome plating, which means only another 20 years before replacement. Won't be my problem by then! ????

Good product

I installed two of these on my charter boat which gets a lot of use. After a month I lost one of the chrome caps. Make sure you tighten the nuts and use a little thread locker on it to prevent this from happening. Haven’t had a problem since. Keeps all water out of the tank. Best design in my opinion.
