Our dog uses this

Our older dog has arthritis and this ramp has helped her. It took a while for our dog to use it on her own and she's still not fully comfortable with it, but she does use it now. Often, though, she jumps off the side. Having sides on the ramp would make it more comfortable for dogs, I think.

Good ramp for the money

I’ve bought several sets of puppy steps for my three small dogs and they refuse to use them. I’m happy to report two of the three will use this ramp. It’s sturdy and has just the right incline. My only complaint is the carpet color is gold and kind of ugly.

about what we expected

the carpet is still slippery at the incline level. We placed a rubber mat over the carpet at the bottom to give additional traction. That seemed to help get our dogs started. Once started, they were good navigating up. They had no issues navigating down. This is a game changer for our older dog with hip issues. The product is ideal for small dogs. Likely works for medium sized as well.

Will Need Additional Aid : Room for Improvement

So the first thing that could get changed in the future is a rubber topper. The carpet was really slick for my dog. She kept sliding down it on the way down and it was scaring her. I ended up throwing a yoga mat over it and that remedied it immediately. I ordered a white yoga mat to look better and I will cut it to size to place on top of this ramp moving forward. Also, I included a shot from the dogs point of view from the couch down. I got this ramp is because my dog is a senior and can no longer jump up on the couch. The couch relieves her joints, but it leaves her stranded when she gets thirsty for water. This ramp will help her have access to the couch plus water. But as a senior, she does not have the best visual perception. I can tell she is very hesitant as she can’t perceive if she’s on the ramp or going to fall. I plan on going to Home Depot and getting them to cut some trellis trim and I will just attach it to the sides. I just think some dogs need the guard rail affect if you are getting this because your dog is a senior. Perhaps the company can Provide a senior model that has both of these features or provide these features as add-ons in the future. They definitely will help! Other than that, the ramp is sturdy and I’m looking forward to it providing my pup with some independence moving forward.

Very High Quality, But...

The ramp arrived as promised and was packed tight and safe. All pieces were high quality and beautifully stained. Easy to assemble and this is from someone who has attempted to assemble furniture items in the past and was NEVER successful! I was expecting the same outcome but their "free returns" policy gave me the security to try again. Unbelievable! Instructions could have been a little better. I couldn't figure which side of the pieces faced up or down. I actually assembled and dissembled three times before getting it right. High quality I say because the screws did not break or strip and I was able to screw and unscrew three times without damaging the screw holes which meant they were able to be tightened each time as if it was the first time. Bottom line it was easy and I felt good it was designed and had the quality that it was a project for dummies like me. If I could do it, your kids could probably. When all was done and I proudly showed it off to my wife we couldn't wait to introduce to our weiner dogs and probably save their backs. Lo and behold I found in my interest to save a few bucks ordered the lesser-priced ramp and found out after finally assembled it was not high enough for Joey or Chloe to get to the mattress. A closer look showed I ordered the sofa version, leaving the few dollars saving sway me away from the evidently larger (taller) bed ramp which would probably fill all the wishes I had when I placed my initial order. I am hoping the supplier will help me return and order the bed/larger version. If so I would certainly be persuaded to fill in all of the stars. Buy the right size and everyone will smile including your best pals.

IT WORKS: BUT PRODUCTION NEEDS A TWEEK.

I bought this for our ailing, 50-pound, 16-year old lab mix who's favorite place is on our sofa. With a little coaxing, she quickly realized she could safely climb up and down the ramp without assistance. It's a nice, lightweight, sturdy ramp that gave Annie back some freedom of movement. My only complaint is that three holes in the bottom wood connector brackets were drilled too deep during production, allowing several bolts to sit too deeply and to push upward into the carpeted top surface where Annie might step. Fortunately, I had enough properly sized flat washers on hand to stack three on each offending bolt to prevent them from protruding up into the carpet above. If I hadn't had spare washers laying around, I would have been annoyed enough to return this product for a refund.

Probably better for a small dog

I have a 12 year old Lab..she has trouble getting on our bed. I have tried stairs of different types..so far none have worked. I have decided to keep this..in part because it took quite a bit to put it together and it was packed in such a way to make putting it back together difficult. It is not wide enough for my 65lb dog and it is not quite stable enough for her to feel comfortable using it. Now I can guide her up it..but I have to do so because she will accidentally step off it. I have had no luck getting her to use it to get off the bed.. I wish the carpet was deeper so her claws could get a better grip. It looks nice, nice construction and I am able to move it around with ease. I suspect it would work well for a much smaller dog... While it may hold 100lb dog... I am not sure that they would feel comfortable on it because does not feel that stable.

Top Quality

One of the best pet ramps i’ve purchased, this puts every pet stair to shame and is absolutely worth the extra money. It was very easy to assemble, taking me about 15-20mins while following along with the pictured instructions. I do agree with other reviewers that the carpet is a bit slick, i opted to put a rug previously used on slick pet stairs on it, but i think the issue could be solved by roughing up the carpet a bit. All in all, this is great quality for this price point, i will be purchasing another when i can

Sturdy ramp for small dogs

Very easy to set up. Solid wood construction. I've purchased two so far. Different carpet came on each. Neither provides great traction but the dogs are managing to get up and down ok.

Great product!

The media could not be loaded. This is exactly what my old 16 yr old dog needed to get on the couch! It’s a solid well built product. Pay attention to fine details when assembling but once you get that it goes together great! Happy customer!

Stabilité

La stabilité de la rampe est vraiment mauvaise. Il y a deux positions de hauteur mais malheureusement il n'y a pas de mécanisme pour la fixer donc très instable quand notre chien (14 lbs) veut l'utiliser. Cela lui fait peur et il refuse de monter sur le sofa ou le lit en l'utilisant. Le tapis de recouvrement est aussi très glissant. Nous allons devoir le changer et y mettre de quoi de plus antidérapant ainsi que de fabriquer une barrure pour le mécanisme de hauteur de positions. Somme toute très dispendieux pour un objet que nous allons devoir modifier.

Works Fine

It's solid, works as advertised. I'm happy with it. However, for the money, I would've expected to see some rubber feet on the base to keep it in place. If you care about your floors, expect to have to pay a few bucks for some felt pad stickers or something. It also got loose very easily and a couple screws dropped out, just from light used. (15 pound dog using it daily) But I'll keep it for a long time, and would probably buy it again.
