Perfect fit
Direct fitment on my craftsman lt1000. No modifications, comes with everything you need. It goes on for back of the deck.

Fit Craftsman Mower Deck Right out of the Box
I expected I'd have to drill holes and possibly even do some welding to get these mounted on my mower deck. I did neither. These bolted right to my Craftsman deck like they were meant to. All hardware was included and assembly was very easy. (You might want a magnet to hold the nuts. I've got thin fingers and there was no way I could hold the nuts between the mounting tabs and the deck.) Other than that, basic wrenches were all I needed. Directions are a little vague - mainly an illustrated parts breakdown, but enough to get you through. The only complaint I have - and it's a very minor one - is that the mounting brackets are not marked L or R. You can figure it out, but the vague directions don't help on that count. You just have to try it to see which way they fit. And, as always, don't tighten any of the fasteners until you have them ALL started. There is a little bit of "bend-to-fit" going on as you tighten down the nuts. Also, it looks like I'll need to do a little alignment of the brackets to get the wheels rolling straight in line with the direction the tractor is going. That should be easy enough - I'll just bend the brackets until the wheels are pointing the right direction. (They aren't off by much, but you can see that they aren't quite right. Probably a function of sloppy tolerances when they built the deck more than anything.) The wheels are almost like balls, so aligning them probably isn't even that important; they would roll almost sideways. I'm just picky about things like that. Apparently there is no specific setting for the wheel height. The brackets have 4 separate holes to pick from and that determines how high the deck rides on the wheels. Instructions provide no guidance on setting the height, so I just put the wheels at the lowest possible setting where they touch the ground with the deck lying flat on the ground. In other words, I didn't set the wheels so that they lift up on the deck at all. But, that was just a starting point. I expect to adjust the wheel height when I start mowing. In short, this is a very easy install and if the other reviews are correct I can't wait for the rain to stop so I can get my tractor fired up.

Rear wheels only
The installation was straight forward. As always, best results are obtained from following the instructions. There are three bolts to line up first before tightening. The hardware shipped to me did not include the large washer that is supposed to go between the outer portion of each wheel and the long thru bolt head. I happened to have one in my garage, and after trying it, discovered what others have found, upon tightening the bolt, the wheel will not turn. So, no worries, not included, not needed. The wheel turns freely and seems lined up straight. It does seem to help on those uphill turns. Just a caution, these wheels are for the rear deck of your 42" Ariens, etc., lawn tractor/mower. If you bought a 42" Ariens that came without ANY wheels, then you'll soon discover that there are no brackets nor holes at the front of the deck for this installation. If there where, techically the same wheels in this location would be called "Guage wheels". You can see this yourself by checking the Owners Manual of any other 42" Ariens that came with the wheels mounted, such as the more expensive 21/22 hp models with automatic transmission, not the Gear Driven model I own. Wheels mounted at the rear deck are more often referred to as "anti-scalping wheels". So, as in my case, I could only mount these at the rear of my deck which came with the bracket and holes (carriage bolt and nut installed at the factory). As such they will only serve a purpose when turning up on a hill to prevent any pronounced digging in of the deck on the down hill side of the deck. Otherwise, since my 1/2 acre lawn is free of stumps, bumps and the like, I'm fortunate not to have a scalping problem. However, IF this is a problem where you mow or intend to mow, the rear mounted wheels aren't going to do much good by themselves. An alternative would be to consider the "nose roller" that is mounted on the very leading front edge of the deck. Whether or not your 42" deck from Ariens or others has brackets and/or pre-drilled holes, you'll have to research that yourself.

Very Nice to make a level cutting surface.
Added these to a Husqvarna 2042 mower deck. Both legs of brackets that bolt to top of deck were off about 5 degrees. Put them in a vice and bent them to about 90 degrees. They fit perfect then. Very sturdy brackets.

Fit very well my Craftsman LT1000, thick and strong brackets I recommended, I didn’t give them 5 stars cause they sent me the wrong hardware, I had to use some old bolts that I had around to attached the wheels.
