Functional clamp

I bought this push-pull clamp to be part of a woodworking jig that will hold round wood knobs so that I can drill them to accept a threaded insert. It is solidly built and looks like it can apply the clamping pressure I need. Before you purchase this clamp, however, you need to know that the shaft does not have a close tolerance fit in the barrel. There is some wobble - almost 3/32" at the end of the shaft when the clamp is closed.

These are small

These are not the regular size wagon brakes. They're fine, thought the handle doesn't stay locked if it is up.

Handles fall down

The handles would fall down and would not stay in the unlocked position. We added Velcro to the handle to keep it up when needed. Locked position is great.

This is a sturdy item

I have 2 of these clamps which will be used to build desk mounts almost identical to the very expensive name brands. The desk mounts are for a separate throttle and flight stick (HOTAS) for my flight simulator. The only other piece required to finish it is a small rubber furniture foot that can be purchased cheaply at most hardware stores. I am able to build the mounts with minimal tools and for about 1/3 the cost of the name brand mounts. For those interested simply google "DIY hotas mounts" or look at some images. I will include a few photos when the mounts are complete.

herramienta facil de usar y poner

Me gusto lo practica de utilizar y lo que no me gusto es que tiene un tolerancia corta de agarre. Por lo que solo se puede usar con espesores poco variables de material. Es decir es corta la tolerancia del tornillo. Fuera de eso funciona perfecto

A bit too high

The centre of the cylinder is close to 3/4", which is mostly the wood thickness i work with. It would be better if the cylinder is 1/4" or 5-6mm lower.

EL MECANISMO QUE NO DEBE FALTAR EN NINGÚN TALLER SEA DE CARPINTERÍA, HERRERÍA, etc.

Es exactamente lo que necesitaba para complementar una plantilla para corte de bolsillo, tiene buena presión y la carrera muy bien también con el tornillo de ajuste se hace más versátil, el precio muy razonable vs los materiales de construcción.
