Ok but probably would not buy again
These are just OK. WATCH HOW YOU BUY THEM! These are priced all over the place. Had I known this I could have saved $25. So why OK? They fit tight and the ear cups are a bit small even with my smallish ears. I can wiggle my ears into them however. Are they really NRR 25? Have no idea but thought they were a bit loud at the range yesterday. I will say the ability to hear range commands and the volume adjustment is very good. I had to turn them way down which was nice. They are not as nice feeling as my 15 year old Sordins which finally died. I would have gone the Sordins but their NRR was showing only 18. I'm not sure the Pro Ears are better. I'll keep them but if I had to do over I would probably stay with Sordins.

These are the best electronic muffs I've tried. You need to be aware of how these work. The electronics are very good at cutting out a gunshot. The 25db rating is okay, but you're going to find non-electronic muffs that deaden sound more. For electronic muffs these are great, especially if you need to hear people talking. They're spectacular for that, and if you increase the gain on the circuit boards (simple - it's just a jumper to move), they're like bionic ears! They were actually so sensitive at the rifle range that I turned them off - the sounds of people talking were too distracting for me. They're outstanding on a pistol range, but on the rifle range I want complete quiet and will continue to use ear plugs. Very interesting to use, as they deaden the sound of the shot very well, but if you turn the volume up, they will amplify the sound of the bullet going supersonic down the range. Hard to explain until you try them. They work very well, but take getting used to. If you're shooting with friends and need to hear them talk, these are the way to go. I've found them to be noticeably better quality than lesser expensive electronic muffs. One key positive is the fact that when the electronics cut out the sound of a shot, they still amplify other sounds, so you keep hearing someone speaking even though other people are shooting. Cheaper units don't do that; some just cut out everything at the same time. The only con for me is that although 25db sound deadening is good, it's not as good as dedicated muffs or earplugs. The rifle range will seem louder to you than when wearing plugs, but it's still a safe level. You just have to get used to them.

Counterfeit product? You decide.
It's either a counterfeit or pro ears quality had gone downhill. Foam sticks out after inserting battery. Not to mention the suspicious looking box it came with and without any mention of Pro Ears.

LOVE these ear pro!
I have used my Pro Ears Pro Tac SC for over 4 years as a competitive practical shooter. They are simply the best! Sound quality AND directional awareness are outstanding. Sound attenuation is excellent for all but the very nastiest 5.56 brakes or ROing the braked Heavy (.308) shooters. So comfortable, it’s easy to forget you have them on. Mine have withstood several “vertical drop tests” and one rainy match when they were completely drenched (not recommended). Battery life is amazing and the auto off helps ensure they are ready to roll for the next match. You will not be disappointed with they Pro Tac Gold as they are head and shoulders above lower cost brands. Additionally, the Slim Cup (SC) model doesn’t interfere with my cheek weld for either rifle or shotgun. Unless I ever need the Comm capability of other brands, I can’t imagine ever searching for better ear pro.

TOP Quality
Used the basic noise canceling ear muffs at Front Sight Training Facility, they were not easy to hear with especially with the wind. Bought the Pro Ears - Pro Tac SC Gold - Military Grade Hearing Protection and Amplification - NRR 25 - Ear Muffs - Green went to Front Sight again, HOLY COW what a difference the sound quality was AMAZING. Wind did not effect much at all! These are US Made, not cheap but WELL worth the $$$.

Not 33db
The 300 dollar Pro Ears ProGold ear muffs are not as good as the $27 generic ear muffs at Red's Indoor Range in Austin Texas. The Pro Ears are advertised as 33db. They are not as good as 30 db ear muffs. The electronics in the ear muffs supposedly contain advanced solid state circuitry. I found them to amplify sounds outside of the human voice range. While shooting at the indoor range the human voices could not be heard but I could hear the rain hitting the roof of the building. I heard the gun shots and the echoes lasted much longer with amplification. I question what frequency Pro Ears is making their 33db claim at. I highly question the frequency curve they have the amplification set at. I put on the 30 db house muffs and the sound attenuation was ok. The Pro Ears was deafening and left my ears hurting. I could hear human voices with the 30 db house muffs but not with the Pro Ears. If the seller comes back to me and says the muffs were defective I'll check out the replacement pair and retract this review. Based on my inspection and experience I do not think there was a unique error. I think the design is bad and the promotional information is misleading. Yes, I tried the muffs with the amplifier turned completely off. The sound level was beyond what my ears could handle and not nearly as good as the 30db house muffs. I'm not talking about a small difference here. The difference was substantial.

Can't go wrong
My second set. I needed a pair while I sent my old one's in for well needed maintenance. These are the best on the market, period. I sent my last par in for repair due to 6 years of abuse, and Pro Ears repaired them for free. Excellent customer service.

Defective plastic
I think i might have been sold knockoff the plastic head band and at the joints where they connect to the ear muff started to break away making the headphones more and more fragile. Make sure to inspect all plastic parts for signs or wear everytime you use them.

Probably the best muffs on the market
They are pricey but they are also the best I've tried so far. Are they worth the 5 to 8 times what cheaper sets go for, probably not. I'd say they are 2-3 times better than sets found in the 50-75$ range. But if confort and mostly sound clarity is important to you, then get these Pro Ears Gold. We've got 3 sets going, all "Gold" but different models. Satisfied with all of them. I bought these because I wanted slim cups and be able to use 123 batteries.

I can hear.
I am hearing impaired and wear hearing aids. This is the fist time i can actually hear the range commands for competitive shooting and still protect my ears. Awesome is all i can say.

Expensive when not on sale but there aren't many other muffs that are as comfortable and work as great as these do
These were great... Were great. First use in some bad weather and they totally failed... Only a loud crackling sound from both sides. Dried them out and they are done.... VERY disappointed in these.
