Great jacket, perfect when on sale.

Chest and outer arms are well padded with quilting and cotton fill, the under arms and back are not padded but still puncture resistant like a classical fencing jacket. Whole thing breaths well. Only over heating was around the collar but I wore with a gorget. For rapier it is perfect, longsword you might want a plates on your chest and shoulders. Movent is great it's very much cut for sword fighting stances and movement. If you find it on sale like I did it's not a bad buy.

This jacket is reasonably comfortable, but it’s pretty warm. I wouldn’t consider it a light jacket as it has about the same padding as a standard spes ap and is much better padded than the spes ap light. HOWEVER the pads are not removable and the jacket is dry clean only. I don’t think I can recommend this over the spes jackets considering the price is similar. If these were significantly cheaper then maybe, but not being able to take out the pads and wash it myself is a big deal. One time at the dry clearers will probably eat up any cost savings over a name brand jacket.
