Really fast shipping wow. I got this like two days after ordering it. Supper solid. I am still running the same one from 2008 in 2023! I got this for a new trailer. Love that I could find the original model. Still the same because it’s great! People posting it tilting there trailer is because they used the wrong side. Don’t forget this will rotate 360. You can flip it 90• and it’s flat for bigger sided rails.

Instructions--beware

Model 74410 (which I've used before) but instructions did not include specific 74410 details, like how to secure the nut that holds the handle in place. The instructions listed model 74410 and others but those others all have a different handle assembly. This one requires that the bolt pass through the handle but the head of the bolt (or the nut) is inside the handle. There is no way, and no tool, to hold it while you tighten the lock nut, which takes a lot of force. Not enough room inside the handle to get a lock with a socket; not enough room to fit a box wrench or adjustable. Very frustrating and a little dangerous. I managed to get a few turns with a pair of needlenose pliers so it probably won't fall off, but that's not a solution. I imagine there's some mechanical-person trick for this but wihout instructions it was impossible for me and so the handle is loose and tricky to manage and so beware of this problem.

bad design

The steel bracket for the wheel is incorrectly designed. It should be reinforced, because this steel is chinese. It literally was bending when I pushed on it with my little finger. That's a safety issue.

Looks and feels sturdy. Manual sucks!

When it arrived the product was quite heavier than I expected in such a small box. That’s a good thing though considering it’s suppose to hold up to 1000lbs. Upon opening the box there were little few parts as well as a fully bagged manual. I’m a manual guys so I read everything on how to put together in case I miss something small. I would have to say this is by far one of the worst manuals I’ve read. The small pictures are not detailed enough. The inks are light as if their printer was running out of black ink and the manual was actually a universal manual for like 9x jack products they have. Props for having it in 3x languages but I would have hoped they put more effort into creating custom manuals for each product. I tried looking for an install video on their website but it doesn’t looks like they have that on their site as well. After trial and error and trying to decipher some of the manual written language I was finally able to put it together. See the pictures posted. I installed it on the driver side of the hitch since if you are getting out of your car it was be the most convenient but yet it also blocks off my trailer instruction information. My trailer tongue is 3” tall by 2” wide. Next the directions call to rest the screws on the top of the tongue which I did (scratches the tongue when bolting) and then the bottom screw into the bottom of the plate where it has two screw holes. Place it in the closer screw hole next to the tongue. For a 3”x2” tongue like my trailer it should be pretty snug as the directions says to not have it more than 1/16” farther apart. I spent a lot more time than I should figuring this out but if the directions were more clear with more detailed images then it would have been a much better experience.

Suitable replacement

Mounted up like any other & worked like all the others I've used in the past. Unfortunately the dang weather cap fell off unlike any other. No hits or bumps to the jack. Just missing when I reached my destination. Suggest to check the cap if you buy this. Maybe add a dab of silicon to help retain the gear weather cap. 3 stars for the cap just randomly falling off.

This is one of those rare products that meats all your expectations. It was very easy to assemble/mount. Less than 7 minutes with two wrenches. When I put the bolt through the wheel, I added some grease to the hole inside the wheel so it spins easier. Maybe you'll want to do the same. The side of the jack mount plate that contacts your frame has indentations in it so the jack wont slide around. Nicely thought out. Not cheap china junk barely meeting standards, but well designed and well built. When you screw the jack all the way up, the wheel locks in place so it wont be freely rotating/pivoting around and bouncing off your frame while you drive. When you mount the handle bolt, the bolt has two flat sides so when its inserted to the crank arm, the bolt wont spin while you tighten the nut. Again someone was thinking ahead to make it nice for us. When I put the bolt through the plastic handle, again I inserted some grease so it always spins as easy as it does when its new. My trailer tongue sits very low. I was concerned it wont crank high enough so its short enough to pull the pin and swivel the jack into the down position. But again the jack will crank short enough that I had 2" of extra room before the wheel contact the ground. And I was scared I wouldn't have enough. When you crank the jack handle, the jack telescopes out slowly meaning this is geared very low and can lift a very heavy trailer without straining yourself. This also means on very light weight trailers as mine, you do a lot of effortless cranking to lift it 3" off the ball. I can easily live with that. I picked a jack with a swivel wheel so I could roll it around my garage on the concrete floor once its inside. It works perfectly for this purpose. If you have a heavy trailer, or any trailer, be careful using this on pavement with any slope. Your trailer will take off and start rolling downhill. Beware, this jack will not hold your tailer in place on uneven ground. Rather unusual. I cant find any flaw with this product. The instructions were full and clearly written though I didn't use them and neither will you. Its just too easy to figure out while staring at it for 20 seconds. You just cant put any bolt in the wrong place. It just wont fit. Its idiot proof. Thats why everyone is giving it five stars. Even the idiots like me cant get it wrong.
