Advertised as working on the grill, but the handle doesn't come off
This is a decent raclette pan - it works just as well as any that I've used before. The cheese slides off easily (just remove it when it's still hot), the pan is very non-stick and cleans out with no effort. It's a good size pan that lets you melt one entire slice of deli cheese at once and then slide it onto a burger patty. If you've never cooked raclette cheese before, it's a very fun and classy way to improve your burgers - the visual appearance and the taste are much better than just sticking the unmelted cheese directly on the burger patty while its cooking on the grill. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because the handle is made of wood and is non-removable, yet this is advertised as being used in a grill to melt cheese for burgers. I used this on my grill with the top open and the handle sticking out over the side, which worked ok, but ideally the handle would be detachable entirely so you could put the pan on the grill, close the lid, and then come back with the handle and pick up the pan. Unfortunately with the permanently attached handle, you really can't close the lid on your grill when the cheese is cooking. The handle lays flat when it is extended, so it's directly touching the grill surface and would definitely be charred or catch fire. So when cooking, you have to have the handle over the edge and the lid open, causing the grill temperature to go down and anything else you are cooking at the same time will be affected. It's a perfectly fine pan, but the overall product design could be improved.

Love this thing!
This cheese melter pan is awesome! Just plop a piece of cheese on there and it melts over the grill lickety-split! Then just scoot it onto your food—amazing! I do wish it was a little bit wider, though. Natural cheese works perfectly on this pan, and I love the folding handle and the little spatula. “Fake” cheese, however, gets a little messy and doesn’t slide off easily. You kind of have to scrape it off. Overall I love this and I’m so glad I ordered it.

Does the job but be careful
This little pan is surprisingly handy if you either want to make crispy cheese or just to melt some cheese for your sandwich or burger. The cheese put in melts readily and slides right out without sticking, though, I imagine with time that property might reduce, I would say ONLY use the soft side of the sponge when washing and its included scraper to hopefully extend its life. The biggest issue is the handle gets super hot, there's basically no protection for you there, it has a wooden block in the center, which stays reasonable cool, but the metal wire that runs around the outside of it heats up a LOT most of the way to the end very quickly. So use a pot holder. The handle heating up is its only major issue though, it's a handy kitchen gadget otherwise.

fun item needs to fit a cheese slice
This was fun to use but will not fit a standard sized cheese slice without cutting or folding it. I loaded it up with shredded cheese and topped it with some paprika for some added jazz. I anxiously waited for the cheese to melt in my little smoker grill and it was worth it! Cheese slid off easily leaving nothing but a bit of cheese fat behind. I will use this again, but due to its size it would not be great for more than 2 or 3 people without reloading it and repeating the process.

Surprisingly Great Melting Pan
This thing is the coolest. It's a metal tray/pan with a Teflon coating on it. The set comes with a folding handle (wire on the outside and wood on the inside-careful when grilling). It also comes with a high temp plastic tool to help the cheese slide off the pan. It really works! I've used it indoors on the flat skillet part of my range (pictured) and on the grill. Make sure you use a potholder to touch the handle. The wire of the handle gets hot quickly. I used regular shredded cheese, and this heated up quickly, and melted fast. The plastic spatula tool pushed the melted cheese off the pan easily onto your burger or whatever you are cooking. Allowing the cheese to cook just a little longer turns it into a crisp! This is truly amazing. Those little bags of cheese crisps for salads can be pretty pricey at the store. In just a few minutes this will make better tasting ones! This tool is a surprise and a joy to have. You never knew you needed this, but you do!

Yummy melty cheese
I love cheese and I love melted cheese on almost anything. This nifty little tray allows for cheese to be melted on its own and poured over what ever you want from burgers to potatoes to sandwiches, etc. I think this tool is technically for the grill outside, but I've been using on a lower setting on my gas stove and it's been working just fine. My only issue with it is that it is not quite wide enough to accommodate a standard slice of cheese. A word of warning, the metal wire on the handle goes around the edge of the wood and does heat up, so you absolutely need to use an oven mitt or cloth when handling the pan.

Essential for the lactose tolerant
I love cheese. You’re reading this review and also love cheese. It’s a seemingly frivolous kitchen tool, but one that I’m ashamed to have gone this long without. I’ll admit, it’s uncomfortable seeing how much oil comes out, but that crispy, bubbly, goo allows my primitive brain to enjoy in ignorant bliss. My one gripe is that it’s small, but the cheese melts fast so it’s not the worst. You don’t have to over cook or dry out a dish again. Pre-melt that cheese
