Got a black foot for a white cup

Previously ordered a black cup. No problems. Ordered a white cup and received a white post and white cup with a black screw-base. Pain in my patoot, but not replacing for another week delay. I expect more precision to detail from Scotty!

You do get a few mounting options with this. You can use the post for use with the standard Scotty mounts. The cup can be attached at the bottom or side near the Scotty logo. You also get the surface mount, which also can be attached to the bottom or side of the cup and does not need additional parts (the scotty deck mount) to make it work. This does give you a lot of flexibility for mounting. The cup itself is average. Not great, but average. Its a little too big for many common beverage container dimensions. Also, those slits are too large. I would have preferred a cup with just drain holes at the bottom and no slits. The rail with the openings might work for some uses, but I think the cup would be better without that feature. There is flex with the cup holder walls that is also unnecessary. As a cup holder, it works just fine. Not really suitable for holding things like phones, VHF handheld radios, keys, etc., mostly due to the over size and giant slits. Overall, considering the mounting options and usability of this cup holder, I give it four stars. However, I would probably not buy more of them in the future. This just isn't as useful as I need it to be for my applications. I would prefer a more plain cup holder without the "value added" features. Scotty innovated themselves out of my business on this product in the future.

Mounts on a kayak well

This is a great fix for a kayak when all the clip on options fail. You can remove it and the base doesnt get in the way. Two mild drawbacks: First...the cup is huge. It was designed to fit a 32oz big gulp, not a beer can. Your drink will rattle around a bit, but hey...we have a drink. Second...they could have included better screws. The screws work just fine, but they leave you with two pointed screws! No nut, no cap to cover these suckers. I would recommend going to the hardware store to cover these screws up before you stick your knee in them. I looked high and low and this is a very good option for kayak drinks. Just what I needed

I have a Sun Tracker pontoon boat with square rails and wanted to add cup holders, rod holders, etc. I settled on the Scotty universe of products and have been happy with them. In particular, I like these cup holders. They are large enough to hold supersized drinks but also deep enough so that a bottle of malty goodness will stay secure. Smaller diameter containers can move side to side, but they do not fall out. I also purchasedWine Glass Drink Holder (Black) which is quite large and does not fit in standard sized cup holders (like the ones built into the boat), but these Scotty drink holders work fine for it. The cup holder comes with the post which fits their standard attachment, but it also comes with a bolt attachment that I was able to use onScotty Bait Board . The plastic is sturdy and the cup holder feels well made. I can recommend these and the Scotty system in general.

Expensive, but they ARE really good.

I have a basic aluminum boat with decking and about 6 Scotty rod holders around the rim of the boat. What I like about these is the flexibility for mounting. Sure, I can put them in my rod holders but I can also mount the little stub mount on horizontal OR vertical surfaces in a VERY small place. Also, the little mount is so small it won't cause a tripping hazard or hang up on much stuff. I have them mounted on the floor in some places and it's nice to be able to pop them off and move them to rod holders if I have a large tackle box or cooler I want to load. Pricey, but when space/flexibility is a premium, these are VERY nice.

A must-have if you need a cupholder on a boat

Couldn't be happier. Needed an easily accessible cupholder for the helm of our boat. Fits most sizes of containers & soda bottles. Even tall, stainless water bottles will not fall out of it while underway. Durable- no worry of this breaking. After install, came to really appreciate the additional slots around the perimeter for item storage- glasses, lures, small pliers etc. easily slide into the grooves for quick and handy storage.

Love them!

These are probably the most practical cup holders you could think of buying for your boat. They side-mount is perfect for mounting on console walls or transom areas, and the Scotty Rod Holder mount means that you can take the cup holder with you to the downrigger or puller! Very much worth the money!

Great for the kayak

This is the second one i have purchased and the first is still going strong but wanted a setup for each boat. Second time around it was missing the fishing poll mount but i made it work with the slide mount. Definitely worth the cash.
